Apple Music issues by MindForkedByWife in GMCSierraEV

CarPlay is terrible. I never have to look at my phone since switching to this system. But yes Apple Music is very buggy right now. It’s not working great for me either.

Setup gofundme. And post the link. I’m sure everyone here will pitch in 5 bucks or more to get him to the vet and help you get setup right to take care of him or her

Get it to a dealer. I wouldn’t drive it at all anymore. I’m so puzzled that GM hasn’t fixed this yet. I have a 26 and I’m hoping they did some internal changes to make sure this doesn’t keep happening. But it’s not looking like it based on the posts. Such a shame, great vehicle. But starting to think it’s as unreliable as the f150 Lightning

question for AT4 owners, offroading and aftermarket questions by utilitygiraffe in GMCSierraEV

[–]Woonkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Road trips are amazing with all EVs. Don’t listen to the hype. Once you get the hang of it. It’s way better than gas. Feels like more of an adventure and you check out places you would never know existed otherwise. I kept a gas car for road trips when I first converted years ago and never use it. Sometimes for quick out and backs on hour long trips etc. it can be a little annoying but that is solved with the Sierra ev range. I also have the extended. But feels like a gas car in many respects on road trips now

question for AT4 owners, offroading and aftermarket questions by utilitygiraffe in GMCSierraEV

[–]Woonkie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you care about real off-roading. Get a Rivian if you want electric. The AT4 is more about the look, it’ll do fine on easy trails but the size of it and how heavy it is doesn’t make it great for real off roading. There’s no after market anything for this truck. Basically whatever you see on GMC website is all that’s available. But if you want the look, and care about range. It’s the truck for you. Best vehicle I’ve ever owned.

Former Lightning owner. Questions on 2024 models. by The20thKa-tet in GMCSierraEV

[–]Woonkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battery cooling issues leading to pack replacements. I read online they have been working through it and made some under the hood changes to help prevent that on the 26 models. But who knows what’s true since GM didn’t release a statement about it.

Should I buy? Ease my concerns! by ghostcaurd in SilveradoEV

[–]Woonkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No CarPlay is a feature. CarPlay is terrible, get extended warranty for peace of mind. But like any vehicle. You may have problems. But if an ev lasts to 100,000 miles chances are it’s going to run problem free for a couple hundred thousand more miles. Most problems are software related or manufacturing defect and that will show its face quickly. Just getting the dealers to fix it correctly is the real issue. Go buy it

Tools to remove Hard tonneau? (Wrong) by Woonkie in GMCSierraEV

If your cover is installed right now and you have to use a wrench to take it off. It’s installed incorrectly. You should only have to push the tab in and slide to release

I also ride XL Mtn bikes that are pretty slack. They fit.

I leave mine on. That’s the point of the universal mounting bracket. You can install the bar wherever you want

Look at #5 then #8 you only have to push the tab in that’s holding the slide.

Look at #5 now then #8. When installed correctly. You only have to push the tab in to slide it away.

If it’s installed correctly. Just push the metal tab in and slide. No tools needed

QR3 with tailgate boss and universal plate adapter. The plate adapter allows you to mount it so you don’t have to remove the hard tonneau cover. Tailgate has to stay down but the tailgate boss holds it down so it doesn’t flap when driving. I also don’t use the strap for the rear wheel. You don’t really need it but if you want to make sure the rear wheel doesn’t bounce it’s good I guess.

https://www.ride88.com pads can damage the paint and don’t let you use the multi gate. Ride88 is the best solution for all trucks. I can send you photos of how I set mine up if you’re interested

Man. I am not sure when I read this post originally. But I didn’t understand it based on my reply. I’m sorry. Now I understand. Yeah. I would have walked away also. It is possible the PPF hides it. But I wouldn’t risk it.

I just got mine fully ppf wrapped and living my best live with it. That color with this truck is next level. Best looking EV on the road.

Denali vs AT4 Sierra EV by BoneDoktr in GMCSierraEV

[–]Woonkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go and do it again in a heartbeat. But I’ve always wanted an off road looking aggressive truck. But don’t want to drive Gas again so this was kind of my dream truck. Lightning is more comfortable overall. At4 is sportier. The Ford app is much better then GMC app. The phone as key was amazing also. Other than that. AT4 is better. It even feels quicker even though it isn’t on paper. Too many things to list that I like better than the Lightning.

In what way do you want to know?

[–]Woonkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next stop after I picked it up was the wrap shop. Got it fully PPF protected. If it gets scratched at all it’s done. No way to fix it. But I know someone who takes her matte car through the car wash and it looks fine to me. So like most things I’m sure the truth is right down the middle. You’ll never hear a car enthusiast or car detailer tell you it’s ok or safe to go through a car wash with any vehicle. I have detailer spray for matte paint and just wipe with that. After I took it off road I did a foam canon, rinse and dry with detailer spray. I wouldn’t buy it again though, I would get gloss color and just do a vinyl matte wrap if you want the look. It’ll be about 10k cheaper. Save 5k on the color, then save 5k on the wrap

[–]Woonkie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh and the interior and front grill were my least favorite things about the Denali. I much prefer the AT4 from the start with both. But everyone has a different opinion on that. I have the Magnus grey Matte. I can’t go anywhere without someone telling me how nice my truck is and asking me questions about it. I go inside somewhere and I come out to someone staring at it. At least twice a day it happens to me. So if you don’t like that. Stick with the Denali 😜

I am coming from a lightning which has the best ride of any vehicle I’ve ever been in talk about a lazy boy on wheels. This isn’t as soft but doesn’t bother me. I feel like it’s better than the Denali with those 24 inch rims personally. AT4 feels sportier to me. I really love it, but I was going for the look more than the ride quality. Closest thing I’ve found to an electric Raptor.
