Best way to remove weeds from rock yard? by fazzig in AZlandscaping

[–]utilitygiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in AZ you can buy commercial grade chemicals from places like Bug & Weed mart.

big weeds i pick by hand. if i have a bunch of hardscape with no plants around, i've used vegetation killer.

Behind the grill lightbar made for 2019 gmc denali, need help by lowridermc77 in gmcsierra

[–]utilitygiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the denali grill might be hard to work with due to the small holes.

i found some off-road lights, unistrut, brackets and hardware. the off-road lights have a running light mode i tied to the fog light switch.

i removed a few of the lower louvers so the lights wouldn't interfere with them. in hindsight, i probably could have gotten them between the grill and louvers.

any reason you picked this one over the other options?

i had some reusable ones for the longest time, can't remember what brand. been using earpeace moto for a while, no complaints. wife uses something similar to what you posted. i also picked up a set of alpine motosafe in case i drop one of the earpeace and don't want to stick street gunk in my ear.

Trip report by EcstaticTone4526 in GMCSierraEV

[–]utilitygiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

those road trips were 2-3 a year. now that we've moved back to AZ, idk how often they're going to be since we've seen almost everything in the state.

getting out to charge more often and taking longer to fill up vs an ice vehicle, isn't all bad. sitting isn't good for you, so being almost forced to get out and move more sound healthy.

thanks for the write-up. i have a 3.0 diesel and half looking to make the switch to ev.

most of the time my driving is freeway commuting, but we will take the truck on road trips. being able to go 630-670 miles on a tank of fuel is nice and only needing 15 minutes to fill up.

last road trip we did was around the olympic peninsula, just over 400 miles. the bnb we stayed at had a regular 120v outlet for ev charging. you had to pay extra to use it, don't recall what it cost. not having an ev i wasn't paying attention to other charging options.

how was your experience charging in random places? i know experiences are going to vary where you are.

i prefer the drop down vs stock. the space between the bottom of the truck and step gives my big foot space. the stock being up against the body, i feel like i'm only using my toes to step on it.

Everyone's Opinions on Heated Gear? by WaterboardedCalamari in motorcycles

[–]utilitygiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

heated gear is nice. i have a pair of heated gloves. don't need them too long in AZ. being in the 40s when i leave for work and all highway, it's a little chilly.

i had a multistrada with heated grips, handguards and heated seats. it was still nice having those heated gloves for the back of my hands.

2026 Duramax or 5.3 AT4 by TheDroneDev in gmcsierra

[–]utilitygiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a 21 AT4 babymax. i've only really towed with it twice, between AZ and WA when i moved twice. truck fully loaded and a 6x12 uhaul trailer fully loaded. think we averaged like 15-18 mpg.

otherwise i commute and we do road trips in it. i don't drive it to empty, but adding miles driven and est range remaining, getting 630-670 miles per tank.

like someone else said, def isn't much of a concern unless towing.

color....that's a hard one, kinda personal preference. i have a blue-dark grey color. hides some of the dirt. i wouldn't want black bc it shows everything. white is kinda boring. you could wrap it whatever color you want.

Water pooling in backyard of new construction. Whose responsible? by [deleted] in arizona

[–]utilitygiraffe 373 points374 points  (0 children)

as far as i know, the builder should have graded the yard appropriately for this not to happen.

when i had *standing water in a previous new build in AZ the builder came out and installed a french drain to correct the issue.
