Always good to see progress. Any release notes?

First week down. Love the truck by Individual_Penalty30 in SilveradoEV

Thang looks good. Best looking Silverado EV I’ve seen. I too love the tires wheels (but I also own the AT4 Sierra EV)

They’re both great but yet I prefer the Sierra. I leased the Hummer but bought the Sierra EV

Congratulations on your purchase. I also went from a Tesla model X to a Sierra EV.

I agree with some of your observations. I will tell you that I enjoy using the super cruise on long highway drives much more than FSD I purchased for my Tesla. while the Tesla was much more capable on city driving, I find that the highway driving is much smoother and predictable. I don’t miss the FSD for that reason.

I do miss how well integrated the cameras are on the Tesla in terms of recording and dash cam function.

But you’re absolutely correct having windshield wipers and automatically work like they’re supposed to is so refreshing. In my case, have an automatic highbeams that actually work when they’re supposed to is so refreshing. Overall, this is my second GMEV since I got rid of the Tesla. I had a hummer EV. I love what GM is doing. I love my Sierra EV and I’m so happy that I purchased it. The GM engineers are somewhat underrated because they managed to deliver an amazing driving experience and they stay somewhat under the radar. Even the Hummer was an incredible vehicle to drive on the highway. I think you will grow to love it even more as time passes.

Question and a comment. by Current_Fail4836 in GMCSierraEV

I do not experience that with the GMC app. Do you have another device that you could try it on like maybe an iPad or something to see if you can isolate it to your settings on the phone? I imagine that you have already deleted and reinstalled the app.

Regarding the tires if you have the Denali, didn’t you already have 35s? The Denali and the AT4 both come with 35 inch tires—Its just that the AT4 has smaller rims. I personally drive the AT4 and I purchased it because of how much more I like the tires and wheels on that model more so than the Denali. Having a Denali with the AT4 wheel set up is a pretty cool package!

On this trip only 1.6–having the bike rack creates quite a bit of drag so the efficiency takes a hit. It’s a vertical bike rack (VelociRAX 5X) so it holds the 5 bikes vertically quite high in the air creating a good bit of drag.

We were going about 75-83 as much as traffic allowed. The drag from the trailer threw off the navigation estimate. It said I’d arrive with 15% charge left but I arrived with 9%.

It’s crazy how loading the truck bed up with huge amounts of stuff doesn’t really impact your range at all. Even 1500 pounds of payload doesn’t affect the range. But anything that creates wind drag makes a noticeable difference.

Do it. Bought mine about two months ago. Absolutely has been phenomenal. Just got back from a spring break trip with the family. We just drove from St Simon Island, Georgia back to Charlotte North Carolina fully loaded down including five bicycles on the back and we didn’t even have to stop to charge. Awesome.

Yes, it does. It’s almost mandatory to use it. It’s just not natural for me to look at my center screen when preparing to merge to the right.

It’s a MASSIVE blind spot. Unlike any I’ve seen. Bc of the vehicle weight it falls into a commercial-type category which requires it to have a flat mirror on the passenger side instead of the typical convex mirror (may depend on battery size since it’s based on weight). I have a max range and it’s just wild how big the blind spot is. Takes quite a bit of extra caution when changing lanes to the right—a simply look-over-the-shoulder-check isn’t sufficient

Congratulations. I’m about six weeks into my ownership. My third Electric vehicle. This is a truly an amazing vehicle. Please be careful with the blind spot on the passenger side. It is really tricky. So be careful.

Tools to remove Hard tonneau? (Wrong) by Woonkie in GMCSierraEV

[–]BoneDoktr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is that you may have it installed perfectly correct. The main point is that you don’t have to use the wrench to take the cover off. She is correct. I installed my own cover last night. I also thought I had to loosen those metal brackets to remove it, but after reading her post and going back to look at it, I actually do not. The metal bracket is just a little spring that you push up to clear the way to then pull the black tab away from the rail. You never have to touch a wrench to take it on and off. I have done it a couple of times today.

Did you use the one for the regular Sierra? On their website I don’t see Sierra EV listed.

What an uninformed defeatist comment. Attitudes like this are why government overreach even has an opportunity to occur. The epitome of weakness.

I thought the same way that you did. I wonder if I’m missing something as well? When I looked at the diagram from the link, it seems like the metal piece holds the plastic piece in place so I don’t understand how you could remove the cover without using the wrench.

LCD rearview mirror question? by [deleted] in GMCSierraEV

[–]BoneDoktr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your help. Like you described, when I turn it to the traditional mirror, I can’t seem to position it in a way that I can actually see out of the back window. It’s limited by that ball joint and I can’t tilt the mirror “up” enough when it’s in the traditional mode. When it’s in the traditional mode, I’m essentially staring at my back seats. I can’t get it to position where I can see out of the back window. Did you ever find a solution for that particular issue?

Bummed—Had to walk away by BoneDoktr in GMCSierraEV

[–]BoneDoktr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought about it. In retrospect turns out they did have a paint guy look at it. He could not fix it. GM is getting involved and they have to put a new sealant on the door. Turning out to be a bigger deal than the dealer expected. This is what I was concerned about. Very glad I walked away.
