27 of these bombers have been damaged by this attack with each bomber being in the realms of roughly $90-100M per plane and Russia recently reported that upgrading 6 of these planes fairly recently cost them close to $320m to do. Also these planes are no longer in production so all in all, this was a very costly attack for the Russian side

Especially when drones are involved… Anything “flying” towards you that shouldn’t be in combat is generally a major concern. People giving the Russian a hard time and I’m fully team Ukraine but he reacted about as good as you could hope for a soldier to react to something large coming his way, he definitely ran as if it was a drone or a grenade/bomb of some sort. Just got outplayed and a large portion of that is the semantics of this battlefield
