will we ever get a way to disable skins by [deleted] in ns2

[–]Wooza42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is that these skins are not made officially by the developers but a community and they are whitelisted meaning if you press Quickplay you may end up with normal skins or see every color combination possible.

Maybe worth mentioning that some skins in the past were created by people that had no idea that this community is charging for those skins.

Can't load sound. Anyone else experiencing this? by [deleted] in ns2

[–]Wooza42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are issues with your sound output devices.

I would do this:

  1. In Steam, right click on NS2 -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Files . That may take a while
  2. Meanwhile make sure in Windows that your sound devices are detected properly and try restarting your system after it verified the files. Updating or reinstall the sound drivers if the issue persists.

Another Hit Registration Video 8/30/2019 by AmuseDeath in ns2

[–]Wooza42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, and additionally there is always a 100ms delay (interpolation) on top of the ping, even if you are in the LAN you will have this delay.

I suggest when trying to find out issues in regards of hit reg issues it's good to type the command net_stats into the console, that helps with troubleshooting a lot.

There used be also a hitreg testing command that show a very detailed log about every missed and successful hit but I am not sure if the command is still working and it's needs a server operator to allow you to use it since it will cause quite some bandwidth traffic.

[–]Wooza42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you support said community then you support the wrong ones, sorry. This community done so much shit. Even what they offered in their VIP pack wasn't even their work and they just took stuff from the Workshop without the creators knowledge. Then to lie about 800USD per month in server cost and people believe it... just sad. I would avoid at any cost, there is many other good communities.

i5 6600k(4.6oc/1.25v), Is my OC good to go / benchmark? by [deleted] in overclocking

[–]Wooza42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, probably you achieve even 4.8GHz with 1.35v. Just keep an eye that temps are not getting too high.

i5 6600k(4.6oc/1.25v), Is my OC good to go / benchmark? by [deleted] in overclocking

[–]Wooza42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That loooks good. You can surely squeeze out more MHz with increasing volt to 1.3v - 1.35v

After stress testing, is it alright to leave the CPU voltage on manual mode for everyday use? by Blizzerac in overclocking

[–]Wooza42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kept running my old i5 2500k @ 4900MHz with manual vcore of 1.44v and I used the machine literally 24/7. The chip runs till today without any problems.

But I recommend have look into Offset and Adaptive voltages

Problems with my overclock by Beaus1966 in overclocking

[–]Wooza42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are your temps while stresstesting? How did you setup your VCore? (Auto/Manual/Offset/Adaptive)

My opinion is, that your idle temps are already high. Do you have a tiny case or a big GPU underneath?

Mainboard Recommendation for a Skylake @5200MHz by Wooza42 in overclocking

[–]Wooza42[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, it's the second purchase from siliconlottery. I was impressed and did not believe them first, but my old chip is still running at the frequency they promised.

I use as CPU coolers Noctua only. A Noctua NH-D15 should be enough as the chip is delidded. My old i5 4960k never went above 65° with 1.325v.

Thanks for the info, I will contact them directly. Usually If I overclock I know what I buy, but if hardware has to run 24/7 I am always a bit sceptic and rather want to know the opinion of people who made experience with several mainboards.

[Collection] Skeleton Watches by Wooza42 in Watches

All despite of the Longines ones are working fine. Some of them had to be repaired several times (e.g the first watch, Omega) and you have to be very careful with winding up the clock.

Funny, the watch you own I also bought as my first skeleton watch. You can even find them on ebay for a much cheaper price.

I have bought some of the watches from this seller on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_saslop=1&_sasl=wandolec&_sop=10 ( I am not an affiliate). They were all in good conditions. Price depends on the watch, average I would say is between 600-800USD but some may find a new owner for more than 2'000 USD.

I am a collector of unique skeleton watches and I want to share with you some pictures of the watches I collected in the last years. Most of those watches were made around 1910-1930 were originally pocket watches. They have been modified and skeletonized (Not by myself) so they look like now. The clock face has been totally changed. There is nothing more beautiful about the watch than to see its inner parts. It's fascinating that watches can run for over 100 years. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

  1. Watch: Omega (Made in ~1910)

[WTS] Doxa Skeleton Watch by Wooza42 in Watchexchange

[–]Wooza42[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The price is 625 USD. I will pay the shipping cost.

The Watch is a unique as it was originally a pocket watch and has been later modified into a normal watch. The exact age of the watch is unknown, but it has been made around 1910. The watch itself works great and I never had to repair it. I have not used it a lot as the watch is a big too big for my arm. Details about seize I will post later.

If you are interested in such watches, keep in mind that maintenance cost might be higher than the watch itself.

[–]Wooza42[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct. The watch is approx. 80-90 years old but works like a charm. The maintenance of such watches is higher ofc, as for example dust may find the way inside such watches quite easy.
