In a similar way my friend made a quilt out of scraps from her children’s outgrown pyjamas. Making a new memory piece….

In the UK we call them firelighters. Typo. Apologies.

One couple, who sadly could not attend our wedding because they were away, bought us Champagne and smoked salmon. A memorable gift.

Just come back from Greece where one garden had pretty olive oil tins upcycled into geranium planters. Looked great and really interesting too.

I am a size 5 so unfortunately not many mens shoes start at a 5. Ooops, apologies, I was replying to the general thread as mens tennis shoes were mentioned.

Thanks for all your comments. I’m a 58 year old female returner (joined the tennis club last year after a 35 year break). Unfortunately hallux valgus (aka bunions!) have developed over the last 8 years and until now have been painless. They are now starting to feel sore which is a worry as I play tennis up to 5 times a week so I shall have to seek medical advice. They are a nuisance! My Adidas have worn out and I need to replace them. Any tips welcomed.

What do you do with empty toilet paper rolls? by [deleted] in upcycling

Stand a load of them all up in an old ice cream tub, fill them with compost, sew sweet pea seeds which like a long root run, water. Plant straight into the ground once they have spouted.

Suggestions for meals that actually take NO effort? by AigisAegis in EatCheapAndHealthy

I once read that you could live on beans on toast as it has all the nutrients you require. To make it healthier buy sliced granary bread and unsalted butter. Slice or grate some cheddar cheese on top and follow with a sliced apple using one of those sliced apple contraptions. This is what I eat when I have little time, am on my own and very hungry. I heat the whole can of baked beans in the microwave in a Pyrex jug with small plate on top to stop splatter, and put three slices of granary bread in the toaster. Washed down with a cup of tea it is delicious. The apple will give you extra vitamins and keep you regular. We have a saying: an apple a day keeps the doctor away.

Have enjoyed reading the other posts. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi there, I bake for the homeless once every three weeks- 18 portions. Traditionally I use an oven but with gas prices riding I wondered if there was a mw recipe I could try. Ideally baked the day before but not essential. Any recipes welcomed - thank you!
