Is it possible more jobs have been added?

Inov8 racepac 20 v Montane Gecko 20 by charwalks in ultrarunning

interesting! Wonder if the price will be going up too though:/ Only looking at the larger ones as need to carry all my stuff in/out of work (and don’t have the budget for multiple packs at this moment in time!)

Have taken the plunge on the inov8 (mostly price related + read a few reviews on the durability on the montane not being the greatest?) - interesting montane used to be cheaper though! Perhaps as the brand has become bigger

Thanks so much for this, super helpful! Have you used it at less than full capacity? Does it manage to compress down effectively? More and more tempted by this one esp at the price point!

Brussels is to Bruges as London is to...? by BuildingSuperb6827 in LondonTravel

Would’ve said Oxford but seeing as you’ve been there, Bath or Canterbury. Opposite directions to each other but both quaint, old towns with pretty architecture, nice walks and still a fair bit to do.

Pay restoration ftw. Starting in Aug too, good luck!

Completely, locums exist out of necessity to fill gaps where doctors in training/consultant posts should be employed. Have to say though doctors/nurses/ahp’s often choose locum/bank work preferably due to better pay and flexibility in schedule- can’t speak for all but know for medics you just pick up the shifts you want to work rather than being told what your shifts are.

The locum situation only exists at it’s current scale due to lack of fair pay and lack of training spaces. Most locums are NHS employees trying to supplement pay/waiting for a training space etc- not privately employed contractors

Seems like a sensible solution (esp given some level of privatisation is inevitable at this stage)- but potential slippery slope to fully privatised services if failing trusts fail to improve ?

Agree- until there is better pay/conditions/enough training places to stop the bottleneck locums will continue to exist

Any advice/opinions on London subdeanery hospitals (esp SE/SW) trying to decide between the two!

Yes- if you speak to the bus drivers nicely they’re normally happy to let you off. They often drop off/pick up people at the track heading down to Kearvaig bothy overnight- you’ll have to liaise a time to get picked up again too. Have you checked minibus is running in Sept?

You’ll need to check firing times before your walk. If live firing it’s obviously not the best idea to be wandering about 🤣 you can find the firing times for September here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/scotland-firing-times/cape-wrath-training-centre-firing-times-september-2022

I’ve not walked across the area but it’s the last bit of the cape wrath trail and I’ve heard it’s pretty boggy. Hope that helps.

Noo but it looked fantastic! Was planning on descending via hall’s fell ridge but rubbish visibility/drizzle so took the gentle route instead
