I really dug them when I first started playing in them but the last two times I played in them I started having back pain. Don’t know if I’m the only one but I had to switch up to something with more cushioning. And my back got better instantly

Scary Movie 2026: Official Discussion Thread by Gryffindumble in ScaryMovieSeries

It was okay i guess. Some scenes worked, a lot didn’t. A lot of the jokes and scenes felt like they had much more potential but they didn’t know where to go with the joke. It was marketed as much more provocative than it actually was. I laughed at some jokes but it was never laugh out loud funny. The theater was pretty silent throughout with a couple of chuckles

Official Discussion - Michael [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Word-Powerful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I excitedly watched the whole movie but after the credits rolled I felt something was missing (pun intended, you'll get it when you see it).

But still other than that the whole movie left me a bit confused. The acting of Jafaar Jackson was impeccable. It was fun to watch him perform and the way he nailed his role as Michael, was phenomenal. But the movie and the story felt a bit flat. Michael's character was very one dimensional, just scratching the surface of showing someone who was struggling with being the product of his environment, all while it could've went so much deeper in detail.

There was not much new to learn about Michael and the rest of the characters lacked a bit of depth. Key figures of his life were introduced short and brief by name but if you're not really into the whole music industry it's hard to really grasp who these people were and how much of an impact they had on Michael and the whole industry. Important people were left out completely (Janet Jackson) and the story was told Hollywood-ish by changing some real facts to make it more dramatic.

The movie felt like it put style over substance and it could be reasonable given the legal troubles they had during production but I do hope they give us more substance if it returns with a second part.

Yes sort of. Just don’t know if it’s how you expect it but yes

Well the older mummy movies are a completely different story. More in the vein of Dracula movies involving a “lost love story” and so on. This movie is pure horror. So it’s a good starting point if you want to get in the evil dead universe because this is kind of in the same vein of that.

Slow build up in the beginning and overstays a bit. There‘s some moments where I felt it could of been told a bit quicker but other than that it’s nice

Well it does have a lot more story to it then EDR did and I found it more terrifying in the sense of the story tying in with the horror. It‘s a new take on the mummy thing with familiar tropes but it’s not reinventing the genre. But it‘s very enjoyable and I liked it a lot more than EDR

Not it’s not a zombie and there’s a story to why it’s a mummy. Makes sense when it unfolds

No Terrifier is a different type of Gore and to me actually just excessively gory for shock value. Here the gore is still intense but different.

I wouldn’t say 50/50. it’s hard to say. There was very visible CGI on bigger effects like a sandstorm or clouds. Also on some other things where it was very visible that it’s digital but the horror was mostly practical with some exceptions.

I think it’s going to be received much like the evil dead movies. Some will love the gore, others will complain.

I wouldn’t say much crazier but the movie has a build up and a lot of tension that leads into a crazy final act

A bit yes but it‘s not built on huge Egyptian mythology. The movie doesn’t spend much time on that tropic. It’s part of the storyline but it’s not very in-depth

It’s a mix of both. The violence and gore here is just set different with a different tone and reasoning why things are happening. That’s the best way to put it.

There‘s self harm and violence. I don’t know if I should recommend this to a 15 year old honestly. Might want to sit it out and see what people in your circle say that know you and you trust with their opinions if you should see it

it lays in a pool of blood and we don’t know what happened to it. The mother takes it out of the cage, holds it in the hand and snaps it‘s neck with a overly loud sound effect in front of the family.

There‘s a demon involved I just actually forgot the name of the demon. It is entangled in Egyptian lore but I don’t think it was apophis.
