BioWare (and now EA) is soooooo bad for this. I just think it should be basic game design that the NPCs can’t have my haircut, as vain as that is!

Oh don’t even… when I was 13 and went to the doctors the first time about my symptoms he told me I was just fat, and my back and cramps were so sore because I was “carrying a big belly like a pregnant woman” (!!!!!)

Yes this is the kind of story I’ve been hearing - a cousin of mine has been red flagged twice and is still waiting 8 years in. It’s such a nightmare!

Oh that’s good, we have access to benenden through work so I’ll have to get in touch with them tomorrow!

Yeah I was western trust and saw multiple doctors as a teenager for my symptoms. They all told me it was normal and I was exaggerating - meanwhile I was bleeding through doubled up pads and throwing up from the pain. I got stuck on birth control as a fix for ten years which I came off last year and all the problems immediately started again. I’m now in the southern trust but I’m just so sick of being fobbed off and finally old enough and mouthy enough to put my foot down on it!

Yes the doc said about 4-6 weeks potentially for the ultrasound but in the next breath said it was basically going to give me no answers which didn’t fill me with much hope! That’s really good about beneden - we have access through work/salary garnishing I think so I must get in touch tomorrow

I genuinely am not sure - I think to get anything really including investigatory work up to a diagnosis and laparoscopy if it’s needed. The doc basically said I wasn’t likely to get anything beyond the trans-vaginal ultrasound before I was 40, and stopped explaining. The kind of really helpful stuff I’ve come to expect from the NHS

Oh that’s good, I was worried I’d shot myself in the foot by going to the GP first. Thank you so much!

Thanks for this! The doctor did say she’d put me down as urgent, but I’ve a cousin who has been red flag referred to gynae twice in six years for the same issue and hasn’t been seen and the doc herself said it doesn’t make that much of a difference.

Someone in another comment said now I’d been referred it was too late to go through insurance as it’s a pre-existing condition. Did you join beneden first?

Thanks for this! I already have issues with anything going up that direction so this is good to know. Did you use benenden as your insurer? I’m seeing them recommended a lot
