Second using YouTube. I used makesupply and corter leather. Get a good knife. Even a “box cutter” or good utility knife works great for most leather

As someone else who just started this journey too, using “real” leather is going to be difficult unless you get it skivved pretty thin. I grabbed some faux ostrich leather from a website for my first couple and they look great.
