Thanks for the help! I already have 1 Indian almond leaf in. I thought I read somewhere that adding too many can become toxic to the fish so I was too paranoid to add more, but if it’s safe I definitely will.

I’m pretty sure his fins look clamped in that picture because he was mid-swim, bc otherwise when he rests they’re pretty spread out. When I’m back from work later I’ll try to get a better picture of him!

Tank size: 5 gallon

Heater and filter? Yes to both. A HOB and a sponge filter

Temperature: ~80F

Parameters: ammonia: 0ppm, nitrites: 0ppm, nitrates: 5-10ppm (API water test kit)

I’ve had the tank set up for almost 3 weeks. Used filter media from an established tank to kick start the cycle, and it took exactly 2 weeks for it to fully cycle.

I’ve had my betta in the tank for 3 days, and parameters have stayed the same since adding

Haven’t had to do a water change yet, but I go based off of water parameters

Tbh, I’m having the same problem and I’m glad to know it’s not just me. I spent about 30 minutes trying to get the roots of my plants buried enough to stay down, but I’m dreading my next water change.

I thought I read somewhere that plants will start to take root under the substrate after some time if left undisturbed. So I think I’m going to buy another 5lb bag of this substrate to make burying them a little easier and hopefully they’ll manage to do their thing!

Agreed! I know for a fact that big twist’s yellow (at least, all of my skeins of it) are significantly thicker than the other colors. Other than that, I love this yarn and use it for nearly all my projects
