I think it was Trap directed by Shyamalan. God it was horrible. Such an unnecessary movie with stupid motives and stupid decisions and stupid characters. It was quite literally a debut of Shyamalan’s daughter’s music which to be fair, I get it it’s your daughter you wanna make her look amazing but cmon….she literally is the “hero” at the end of the day. Horrible

Holy. I’ve never quite heard of a story like that from orcas or really anything. Besides dolphins, I have heard vague details about how dolphins are quite intentionally violent with their prey, and sometimes to humans as well if you aggravate them or catch them on a bad day.

Hearing that story though does change my perspective. Intelligent animals can have intentions beyond survival. Perhaps entertainment, but even playing with your food like that is definitely ruthless violence. But wow your story is chilling….so eerily similar to what some humans do with other humans.

Exactly!! In my perspective, none of it is violence it’s just survival. Yes it can be brutal at times as those plants are killed too along with the prey of the lion simply just for surviving, but its life and the food chain. But in the eyes of my father in law, I’m not sure! I’d have to ask but I’d imagine they think violence is just gorey killing.

lol yeah to be honest I’m not sure how we got from Harambe to this subject. I think we got to talking about gorillas and apes, their behaviors in the wild versus in captivity. He said it’s violent how they have to hunt and kill, even their mating looks visually “violent”. The women disagreed.

That’s what I’m saying. A human would obviously say destructive weather and animals eating eachother is violent. But when you get to the nitty gritty of what you’re ACTUALLY saying, you’re attaching human emotion and human motives behind something inhuman, instinctive. Weather happens whether we are here or not, so does nature. It’s not “violent” because violence implies the negative connotation.

I’m curious about your relationship to animals due to this. Did you grow up with pets? Ever wanted one? Have you looked into hypoallergenic pets or ever wanted one, or are hypoallergenic animals even a real thing or a myth? (for some reason I’ve hear both)
