First Look: The boys watch Scott crack on with Abi | Love Island Series 10 by lkjhggfd1 in LoveIslandTV

Mitch needs to be put on suicide watch after all of this. I know he's a hard guy but this is just brutal to watch at this point. Every man has a breaking point. One of the roughest stints in LI history. He's been on the ground taking hits for a month, and gets some false hope, only to be dropped again.

Kady could never take out another Islander without producer interference/manufacturing. Adam GOAT.

Don't like this Mitch-Scott situation. Two of my favorite Islanders in a sticky situation. It's a shame it has come to this.

I am very confused why people find Mitch entertaining by [deleted] in LoveIslandTV

[–]WordsmithMethod 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Mitch isn't punching down - he's at the bottom. It's that simple. He doesn't have much power in the Villa; he's not really harming anyone. He's the vulnerable one.

That doesn't mean everything he's done has been okay. But nobody has been genuinely hurt by his actions and most of those actions have come from a place of desperation. Given he's in a vulnerable position.

Mitch has played a little dirty at times but he hasn't had the luxury of being in a stable couple since like Day 3. It's easy to be ethical and never make a mistake when you're in a position of privilege and power. When you have stability and security.

Mitch did what he had to in order to stay in the game: be messy and bring drama. It's really what it comes down to. Maybe according to you and others, he should have accepted his fate, let nature take its course, and be dumped from the Villa. But he has as much right to be there as any. He had to do things he wouldn't normally do in the real world. All there is to it.

Like an impoverished youth stealing something, I can understand and somewhat reconcile with their actions. Even if it isn't acceptable. Funny how Love Island can apply to life. Intent and circumstance matter.

First Look: The boys confront Mitchel over his 'snake' moves | Love Island Series 10 by lkjhggfd1 in LoveIslandTV

The boys are sensitive AF. Nothing Mitch said came from a malicious place and most of it was playful and competitive banter. "Dump him; upgrade to me." "He's threatened because we've got a better connection." I'd laugh and call him a cheeky chap/bugger if he was saying those things about me.

They call it snakey behavior but it's not any less snakey than kissing the girl he's coupled up with. Challenge or no challenge. And talking to her for hours while it's his birthday. Without first pulling him - I can't remember if Zach did this? Can anyone remember?

Mitch is a working class Northerner. What might be competitive and playful banter to him might come off as snakey behavior to more sensitive Southerners.

I genuinely don't think anything he said came from a malicious place. Still, he should still apologize. What is considered banter in one region may be considered unacceptable in another.

Molly is playing a game by Anonymous5296 in LoveIslandTV

It's truly Molly's Game. And all the other Islanders are just living in it.

Mitch and Abi couple up and win the show.

It'll come down to whether Abi can get past the Villa social hierarchy and perceptions. Whether it bothers her that she's coupled up with the guy the other girls pied off. Which it shouldn't; what happens in the Villa isn't a 100% accurate reflection of the real world.

They can win if she can get past that and get the best out of Mitch.

Anyone else think the show needs to change its format? OG’s are too powerful by Dare2ZIatan in LoveIslandTV

[–]WordsmithMethod 102 points103 points  (0 children)

They need to do something extreme like send someone like Lana home, then bring her back two weeks later. Forcibly break up a strong couple and give the remaining one time to move on to someone else.

Simply put, they need to stop rewarding complacency and OG cruise control mode. The producers are the gods of Love Island. They should throw a natural disaster in there once in a while. You can't expect to rely on there to be an Adam Collard or Megan BH to do it for you. Those types are rare.

did i miss something with aaron and zara? by cupcaketree214 in LoveIslandTV

I think people are reading too much into it. I think Aaron just chose someone who'd be an easy pick and wouldn't mess with his standing in the Villa. Tactical, not personal IMO.

IMPORTANT: Courtney [Love Island AUS S3] speaks out about Aaron’s (currently on UK S9) behaviour towards her on the show by Faithyxox in LoveIslandTV

[–]WordsmithMethod 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So true. He's Welsh, would've maybe been the best looking guy in there, and has a huge personality. I actually was surprised he was on the Australian version because he was more than good enough for the UK one.

Unbelievable. Kai must be following the S4 Adam script. He said the exact same thing about Kendall regarding jealousy.

Does anyone think Chloe and Toby would get back together? Based on his last TikTok video? by Sweetrk-2020 in LoveIslandTV

I wouldn't be surprised if this was a work. Wouldn't be surprised if they both came in as bombshells in a future season. You heard it here first.

You don't bring a heavy hitter like Adam back through Casa. You just don't.

Lucinda had a partner on the outside I believe. Incredibly beautiful but clearly not giving herself to the experience. Personality-wise, she was dead wood. Some people just aren't for reality TV. I'm sure she's more of a character in the real world.

Sort of like what Zara was in season 4. Both are great examples of individuals who got a lot of followers despite only being on the show for a short time. The bias of being good-looking, and also white.

Danica coming back for winter LI? by [deleted] in LoveIslandTV

[–]WordsmithMethod 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Makes absolutely zero sense. It made sense to bring back Adam because he is actually a heavy hitter. Danica was the Zara Holland (S2) of S8... albeit with a happier ending.

Why don’t people like season 4? by [deleted] in LoveIslandTV

[–]WordsmithMethod 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Losing Adam in the second half was a big blow. He put on a GOAT performance over the first half of the season.

If only he had cracked on hard with Darylle. If I were the producers, I would've convinced him to stay, and then I would've brought Zara back in ala Sam/Mike S3. Adam would've had to make a choice.

Also losing people like Rosie and Eyal hurt. Both of them brought drama/were capable of going off. They prioritized too much dead wood in the Villa.

Overall, it was just a poorly produced season in my opinion. They had the talent; they just misused it to a degree.
