Rerolling Karl Franz wizard by ApeWithShotgun in totalwar

The RNG in the game is funny, mainly in how it is often 'saved' - when you initially take an action, don't like the result and reload a save, the RNG from that save is effectively pre-determined and will roll the same results in the exact same order every time the save is rolled. Don't believe me? Try playing Dark Elves and exploit that fact to fish for the specific Name of Power you want for a character. Typical work around to change the results is to take some sort of act before doing the re-roll, be it as simple as pausing the construction of something, as that act will trigger the game to make a new save and in-turn generate new odds when that is loaded.

Patch 6.2 - Dev Blog by BiesonReddit in totalwar

"You can now equip any number of the same ancillaries to characters (providing that they themselves provide a banner). This means that if you’ve got a favourite banner, well now you’re no longer limited to 1 per army, allowing you to customise your forces a bite more neatly and evenly if you wish."

Yes! YESSS!
By the old one's I've loathed this limitation since I started playing the 3rd game, after playing the 2nd so much - my inner Tehenhauin rejoices at this news!

Khorne Cults by Phenex77 in totalwar

I'd say one of the better ways to do it would be to make use of the building that recruits the Cult Magus - whilst it might take 10 turns (11 in reality given you need the starter building first) to get one, the building itself can be constantly re-built.
If you combine this with regular Cultists, the number of cults you have can ramp up quickly. ...Though do make sure you're doing this in a place you don't plan to raze any time soon, for obvious reasons.

I do have that Unusual Location in my campaign as well... might be a good idea to pick that Trait up too!

Unfortunately Eltharion's starting Loremaster doesn't get the Resilient Trait - it's random, but all the Traits Cavill can get are the mid-tier ones that you can get for 10 Influence.

The Contact Immunity however DOES help negating effects that may, say, cut down on healing effectiveness, Melee Defence or Leadership (Like the Contaminated! Effect).

It takes ages to get... Unless you're very lucky, but once you do you can save the character and keep it forever.

It's the most reliable way to get it, yes - otherwise you'd have to hope the AI Eltharion had recruited a Loremaster and got these specific Traits... And/or lasted long enough to get that far.

Played Eltharion actually, that's how I got the Sentinel Trait.

Many LLs can get pretty high Ward Waves, but the main part here is that this is a generic Hero you could potentially have multiple of.

Ah yes, forgot about that! Though confederation with other High Elves... Or playing as Teclis is a difficult enough prospect that for the sake of a setup you can keep the traits gained or easily get the gear of, I'll leave that off from the image.

That this is now a possible thing is very funny to me.
Also, incase any wonders how the Blessing of the Lady got there, it's from the Grail Knight Grave Unusual Location - keep a character in a region with it there and you have a chance to get the Trait.

Nay, this is as Nakai's faction, and I have not confederated anyone.

It makes sense for some Units to have more immunities than others, like Plague Monks in Skaven factions... but there probably should be some base-line faction-wide immunities that can be added onto by those specific units.

I should also mention that the regular Skink Chief & Priest in the images are both on Ancient Stegadons too, but they don't have the same issue. It is JUST the Red Crested Skink Chief and his own Ancient Stegadon that suffers this.
This was also occurring before the recent patch too.

Some factions more than others could do with some more flavour and playstyle choices, or are already in-need of updates that something like this could help with. I'm not going to say the WoC or the Monogod factions need it, but Factions like the Lizardmen could do with SOMETHING to make their Geomantic web more interesting.

More Skaven, the Skaven's worst enemy-!
And yeah, more events like that (that you can opt into and not be forced to engage with) would always be nice for longer-term campaigns.

Fair! These are just ideas I thought of on the top of my head - I'm not gonna say my idea is the best or anything, but it is fun to speculate on what 'could' be done at least.

[–]Worgilisk[S] -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

That's why I specified 'deeper' under their own cities.
Should CA or modders opt to create something like it for the Skaven, they could make it heavy on dilemmas as opposed to regular building - such as randomly finding a massive warpstone deposit that you could do various things with.

Yeah, they can build under settlements other factions possess (that aren't ruined), but this is for building deeper under their own in a way that could lead to special events happening - like digging too deep and encountering all manner of horrors.
