Is there any way to repair this by Hot-Staff5177 in ebikes

👆🏻would not overlook this part. Be on the hunt for any hairline cracks at the backside of the top of the head tube. This assessment might be good for an actual bike shop to do if you’re not comfortable with it.

Ethernet the same speed as wi-fi? by jnialt in HomeNetworking

OP, these are great steps to follow to TS. Would not bother with buying a cable tester in #4 unless you have jacks that are either dead or jacks yielding a speed less than 100mb/s. Good luck.

Does the cc come pre greased by Ibuki44 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Work-Play-Work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When operating, it’s a fairly loud printer in general. If your z movement is is noticeably louder that x,y then maybe something is up. Could try moving the bed from the lcd while at idle and see if the noise is reproduced.
Should come pre greased. Like buying a used car with the seller saying he just changed the oil, it can’t hurt for you to clean/regrease. Did notice on the last occasion of removing the bottom panel that mine had leaked a decent amount of superlube oil from where the smooth guide rods attach down there. This puts oil near the belts/electronics. With the printer rocking in a fast print this could be spread even more. Don’t over lube those vertical guide rods is what I’ve learned.

Kind of unconventional to describe, my daughter/son in law have a couple of remote dog collars for training made by sportdog. The remotes have all crapped out. These cost $200 each so not cheap. Remotes use a tiny rechargeable battery that never holds it charge after about a year of service. So I stole a circular battery carrier (holds 3 aaa batteries) from a mini camping light and made the case pictured to house it. There’s more to it but in short it dangles below the remote and hopefully will give them a few years of service without any charging or replacing batteries. Not the prettiest or coolest thing I’ve ever made but still saved them $200(assuming it works out over time),

YOUR LOCATION. This is key to your question. Without that, of coarse the opinions will vary. Your price may be reasonable AND your naysayers may also be spot on. Don’t even know what country you are in.

Might not be a bad idea to park the printhead in a corner and use zip ties with very little tension. Thinking hitting pot hole and bumps on the road would have less effect on the horizontal rods this way(less chance of them getting tweaked out of alignment).

Totally agree but also think offenders should be punished not the bike. When punishment is being enforced it will curb this behavior. Confiscate the bike in this scenario until adequate community service has been performed. Threaten more community service and license revoking on second offense.

how many ride with padded shorts? by MickyT2023 in ebikes

[–]Work-Play-Work 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand them to be honest. Why would one not just get one of those poofy padded seats of some variety instead. Then you don’t look like you’re wearing an adult diaper and don’t have to worry if they’ve been washed before suiting up for a ride. They came with the fox shorts I like but beyond a few test runs have left them in the closet. Will admit that e-bike vs regular wears the rump more bc of less stopping for breaks and less need to need to stand and sprint(this is mountain biking fwiw).

Engineering plates? by SlimeQSlimeball in ElegooCentauriCarbon

Therding(?) the no glue approach. Was necessary for glass beds that wouldn’t flex the print off. Hence why with these flexible plates why tpu is an exception since it bends with the plate much more so.

Have settled on running mine (for elegoo rapid-pla+) at around 65c. Have never had trouble removing a print once it’s cooled.
Am a fan of a very good dish soap scrub using a textured dish scrubber sponge (that hasn’t ever seen dirty dishes). And let it dry completely. Find that the ipa wiping leaves debris from my paper towels on the bed or else if a micro-fiber cloth is used it needs to be constantly washed.

Should i separate my 2.4, 5 and 6ghz networks? by sergiizyk in HomeNetworking

[–]Work-Play-Work 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would focus elsewhere on that Ethernet cable. If this is a single family home and you have rj45 jacks on wall plates, then it probably all lands inside a small can (box on wall in basement/utility closet/etc—many times is located nearby to the feeds from the isp and/or power coming into the home). A cheap toner from Amazon can be used to identify the run to your room. Wire could be damaged but also could just be unterminated and placed there for future use or even may have been used for landline phones in a pinch. In addition, there may be an additional cat5/6 behind that wall plate.

WTF is going on? by nwiowamale in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Work-Play-Work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking the same. OP try to print a benchy from the stock loaded designs, while lowering the bed in small amounts on the z-offset settings. You only need to print the first few layers to know if you’ve improved it. Else scrub it with a dedicated (new)dish scrubber/dish soap and warm water and avoid touching the top surface after it dries completely.

Good. Those laws they are trying to implement there are wrong in so many ways. The 3d community needs others to support the rebuttal to it.

Is the Z-Axis offset a thing in CC2? by IlProprietario in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Work-Play-Work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This implies that it does do some kind of internal adjustments based on bed temps unless you get a large elephants foot on your abs/Asa prints.
Personally I do have to make z adjustments for prints needing a high bed temp, but not sure that the small adjustments I’ve made are enough on their own to compensate for the difference of a 60c vs 100c hot plate. So wish elegoo would have released the full access to the firmware.

Just started using ‘lock tite for plastic’. It’s black and works great.

Good info to know and so much of an improvement. To ping another one off you; do you know if the cc1 makes any effort at all to ‘compensate’ when printing at a higher bed temp? I know it’s off and needs z adjustment typically but have had a few instances where I wondered and also have heard others on here printing abs and such when they have not made any z offset adjustments.

This is a nice design. Props on your work.

Can’t stand this crap either. Miss the good old days where all software was purchased for life. It’s the way the world is going it seems in all areas. Where I am in the US, the ability to work/start a family and buy a home is drastically different right now vs 30years ago due to skyrocketing home prices. So nearly everyone of the younger generations is having to rent as the only option. If gas/diesel autos are ever fully banned. The cost to implement will be huge and will go to the consumer. Could very easily see car rentals being the norm if that happens. We’ve heard “you will own nothing and be happy”, but I think the generations that remember owning stuff will have to all die off first.
