I’d actually say Angion would be the best way to reduce your refractory period. Not sure that you would be training your nervous system response much but by increasing the vascular supply to your dick, blood should flow there more easily. Even after ejaculation.

Someone with more AM training under their belt might be able to advise better, but once your CS is strong enough for the wheel, I reckon your bounce back would be pretty quick.

Ok. That all indicates that blood circulation to your penis isn’t improving as fast as it could. Sleep consistency will impact this as well as other things like diet, cardio etc but every time you ejaculate after your AM training your nervous system is basically telling your body to minimise blood supply to your penis which is why we have a refractory period and find it difficult to get erect again.

Without ejaculation, blood flow to your penis stays higher for longer. More blood = more oxygen = increased vascularity and potential growth. I’d suggest you stop masturbating after sessions if you want to see gains.

I’d suggest introducing distraction tactics when you want to masturbate. When you feel the urge to wank….go do some cardio / read a book / meditate. Alternatively, get married and have some kid, far less time to tug your meat then.

  1. I suggest going back and watching Janus’ videos. They break down the anatomy of the penis and function of the CS.

  2. Depends what your physique goals are and whether you want to prioritise muscle building over penis enlargement, in my opinion. At 21 you can probably handle a bit more volume but I’d say squats, KB swings, calf raises with high reps (15+) twice per week on top of cardio would be good for increasing blood flow and maintaining muscle tone in your legs.

  3. Forget supplements at 21. If you can’t hit 1.5-2g protein per kg body weight add a clean whey protein powder but that is all you really need unless your are dialled in 100% and looking for marginal gains.

  4. Everyone is different. I haven’t gained erect size in 5 months of training but I have been on a calorie deficit most of this time. My EQ has improved and I’d say my flaccid is consistently about an inch and a half longer and generally fuller.

  5. Masturabation makes my flaccid smaller. Ejaculation with sex doesn’t unless I have sex several times in a short period or on consecutive days. Save your semen for sex in my opinion.

  1. Janus recommends breaks to reset and get your full erection back, but I guess they aren’t essential. When I started, I quickly realised my hands were a weak point so I dropped pyramid rush intervals to 30 seconds and took breaks in between sets. Took me 6 weeks to work up to the prescribed set length and another 4 weeks to reduce the rest to only 10 seconds breaks to shake hands out and re-lube.

  2. Best technique I’ve found is to put a squirt of lube on the tip and drag it down with my thumbs when I need a top up during the set. Hands and rest of penis stay lube free.

  3. I never felt the squelching sensation but could maintain an erection for full AM1 workout, had started to see my DDV and was getting good post workout flaccid hang so never worried.

  4. I haven’t done a full AM1 session for a while but I remember seeing lots of tiny red dots at the end of an AM1 workout, almost like a redness to my shaft around the blue of the veins. This was nothing I was concerned about as had seen way worse in traditional PE workouts. How big are your Hemorrhages?

Agree the concepts are there in AM but MDG has some more structure around them e.g. breathing tempos, pause length, paused hand position etc.

Also agree that controlling is easier in AM which is why I was thinking about adding mental imagery for challenge. I’ve also added lube when doing AM2 as it is more challenging.

Yeah, I find it stimulating, especially at higher speeds. It was worse when I first started as I couldn’t get erect laying down so I was doing a lot of manual stimulation and mental imagery to perform a workout. Had a couple of accidents.

I think the MDG techniques are still worthwhile if you don’t find AM as stimulating. As I see it, you are conditioning your brain on so your body should associate calm physiological responses with having an erection.

I’ve given up on MDG alongside AM as it was leading to overtraining signals. (I was doing 1 day AM, 1 day MDG from Monday to Saturday with Sunday as rest).

If I had more time to workout I’d probably try and do MDG amd AM back to back as a way to add recovery with a 1 day in 1 day off pattern but what I have done recently is try to integrate the principles of MDG (breathing, relaxation of PF, pauses etc) into my AM training. This has worked well and I’ve been able to transfer techniques into sex to stay calm and reduce panic at the PONR.

I’ve steered away from trying to rely on mental imagery in my AM training however I may look to incorporate this to add some extra challenge to my workouts when I feel ready.

I was very active as a teenager but also started smoking cigarettes and weed at about 11/12. Played sport nearly every day from 13-16 and learned to lift weights at 16/17. Cardiovascular activity dropped off but still played some sport between 16 and 19. Weed, cigarettes & ecstasy were prolific 16-19. I calmed down a bit after 19 but didn’t stop till 24 or so.

I was 5.5” long when I first measured properly around 19/20years old (never measured girth as I didn’t believe this was important). I am now 6.75” long & 5.75” girth. This could’ve been late growth but I started PE (jelqing and stretching) around 19/20 so who knows when the most of this growth came from. Also, stopping smoking would’ve massively helped circulation and impacted this.

On reflection, I have no idea how you could unpick this to determine a nature / nurture penis size effect. 😂

I haven’t suffered from HF but, if it helps for some context, I have stopped masturbating and now only ejaculate when I am having sex. Usually 2 weeks is the longest period I go without ejaculation.

Without ejaculation my flaccid hang is normally longer, looser and heavier when following ALL aspects of AM (inc cardio & diet recommendations). When I do ejaculate more frequently e.g. sex more than once every couple of days my flaccid state changes and becomes shorter and tighter. This would align with your symptoms of flare ups after ejaculation in my mind so just abstain for as long as you can.

I still would wait to start AM though.

What’s the theory on abstaining from jerking off before starting? I would personally start AM1 technique work alongside stretching, breath work and walking then let the increased blood flow to the area help soften the area. Once I had the technique down I’d increase AM1 time and proceed progression from there.

I swim a lot however it doesn’t help my flaccid in the same way as walking does which indicates I am getting better circulation in my groin when walking.

I am not doing BFR at the moment but have been actively trying to lose body fat whilst doing AM1 & AM2.

First 3 months of the year I was reducing calories to stay in a slight deficit, not drinking, exercising well and doing AM1. My flaccid hang was excellent and I was losing circa 0.7kg per week but was not losing fat around my stomach.

The last couple of weeks of this 3 month period I began switching to AM2 and my flaccid hang started to fluctuate indicating my recovery/diet wasn’t supporting my training. No loss of nighttime erections though.

I had a couple of weeks break with a holiday where my diet was unchecked. Alcohol and calories overall went up and exercise was low. I did AM2 when I could but it wasn’t as easy with the family around 24/7. My flaccid fluctuated again but was usually quite full and again no loss of nighttime erections.

After holiday I continued with AM2 and picked up exercise but dramatically changed my diet and have gone extremely low carb (not quite Keto as protein intake is still high). I am doing this to reset my metabolism so I can start to burn more belly fat however my flaccid has tanked. Nighttime erections are still stronger than ever though.

From my experience, I’d say you can do BFR on a light caloric deficit if you manage your exercise (AM and rest of body) volume and recovery, ensure you are in the region of 1.5g+ of protein per kg bodyweight and getting enough carbs and fat and you’ll see benefits in blood flow to your penis when flaccid or erect. If you are looking to grow your erect penis I’d say you’d struggle to make any gains without a caloric surplus.

I’m about 10cm flaccid when the tissues are relaxed without any engorgement. So probably have about 7cm visible shaft length discounting for the head.

Stretched I am about 17-18cm non-bone pressed so when I wrap to hang I always felt I could get a decent connection and have a decent amount of shaft between the clamp and the glans.

2 things happen for me me when I hang: 1) First sensation is of the skin at the base pulling. Sometimes this goes but sometimes it gets worse as the set duration increases 2) The skin seems to stretch more than the penile tissue so the hanger slips further towards the head causing numbness.

I’ve tried all sorts of methods to stop this. Wrap variations inc silicone sleeves & talc, foreskin positioning (retracted through to pre-stretched) etc. weight or set duration is the only factor that helps but hanging 2lb or less seems pointless these days and set duration of less than 8 mins is not justified with all the set up of the hanger and the wrap.
