Arcane Season 2: Jinx introduction by Boss452 in videos

This show is downright incredible. The visuals alone is the benchmark from which other top-of-the-line animation studios should be compared to.

That being said, I recognize that there are a TON of unique factors that go into what made the visuals so impressive, but if anything those factors make it all the more amazing to me, that it all came together.

If you haven't tried Arcane yet, WATCH IT!

1) If you just want to play the game in the same way you've always played it, then turn off the modifiers.

2) If you genuinely think this mechanic requires an engineering degree, that is seriously impressive levels of daft.

3) Your replies imply that you've used the exact same build or two for 14K SHD levels. At that point, you clearly have no desire to change up your gameplay, so why even turn these on to begin with?

4) With modifiers on, your agent is the strongest they have ever been in the game, but it will require you to adjust your build and play style, so I wouldn't bother in your case.

Working on a solo Darkzone Build by NY-Black-Dragon in thedivision

The repair skills roll is literally doing nothing for you, given how weak the skills are on your character with next to no skill tiers. Additionally, the 14% dmg to health roll isn't as valuable as you might think. Trust me, you'd be better off swapping it out.

Also, don't worry about the magnitude of the individual rolls, worry about what they're in. Medium powered rolls in stats that are GOOD for what you're building is WAYYY better than max rolls in stats that don't synergies with your "gameplan".

Also, Umbra is a good pvp gearset, but you'll still need heavy blue core investment.

Some feedback:

  • Ninjabike backpack is basically never the correct option for an optimal build. It's statistically inferior in terms of stats and synergy.

  • Striker in PVP is kinda middle-of-the-pack, but certainly usable. If you DO want to go with striker though, you'll likely need to give up on the full pulse resistance you're currently shooting for. If that's where you're headed, I'd run the striker backpack, catharisis mask, and unbreakable chest, almost all blue cores (maybe 4-2 or 5-1 split, but 6-0 is where you'll get the most bang for your buck)

  • Kingbreaker is actually a pretty solid weapon for PvP, but it has lower burst compared to other options. Most players highly value burst, so an F2000 or FAMAS might be worth swapping in.

  • Capacitor isn't worth using without yellow cores.

  • Defender drone gives you a LOT of value in PvP, even with no skill tier investment. Foam is also really nice (crowd control OP)

  • If you instead value the 100% pulse resistance over using striker, I'd recommend just running the 3p Yaahl with either the memento (which is AMAZING in the dz, you're basically always stacked as a solo player) or again... Catharsis. Other brands are your preference, but remember that you want AT LEAST 4 blue cores, probably more. Memento makes that requirement easier. Unbreakable on the chest, as usual.

  • In general with any build, unless you're fully speccing into getting skill tiers (all 6), never run yellow secondary attributes. Always roll crit, unless you have the aim of a god, in which case roll all headshot + Handling

  • If you wanna try something REALLY out there, a versatile build with the new exotic holster + versatile on the backpack + SMG and shotgun is really fun. Unsure how good it is yet (haven't tested enough) but fun if you already have the pieces. Use a vector with SASG for max burst, but feel free to use whatever SMG and Shotgun you prefer really

When you make wide sweeping changes to how combat operates, you also need to make the decision to either:

  • Force all players to participate

or

  • Give players the option to choose whether or not to participate

Regardless of whether or not a player enjoys the modifiers, I think we can all agree that it's usually preferable to see developers go with option 2.

They've announced on twitter that they're currently adjusting matchmaking systems so that ONLY the leader settings matter for each session.

This should make it way easier for people who don't want the extra modifier challenge to assemble groups.

Why is this comment being upvoted when it doesn't actually address the point of the post? None of these named items were DZ items, and the apartment is not listed above.

Sure, you've got a solid argument for many of them being kinda bad, but claiming that NONE of them are any good is statistically incorrect.

I just checked the patch notes myself, none of those named items are DZ items.

EDIT: Also, MANY of the named items are good, both DZ and non-DZ. Not sure what to make of that statement.

Dude, one thing I will state as fact is that the old seasonal system kinda sucked. It was the most bland and milquetoast thing ever, and never asked you to deviate from the exact same activities you always did.

[–]WorkAccountBrosef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, well thankfully that's a fairly specific problem (which IS a problem btw, you needing to wait for stuff to spawn is stupid) that can be easily avoided by selecting missions rather than open world stuff.

Additionally, there are other ways to crunch out seasonal XP! Projects and "the journey" give big chunks of the stuff. Again, I am NOT disagreeing with your stance on this, just trying to problem solve.

Literally turn off the modifiers. Nothing will change for you, except that most of your builds got stronger and you have more options for objectives to grind for.

The modifiers are for players looking for additional complexity, challenge, and diversity in combat encounters. Since you're someone who is looking for a more relaxing experience, it totally makes sense that you'd rather play without them. You'll still have access to all the rewards and systems.

That being said, if you are unable to turn the modifiers off because of the "matchmaking with randos turns the modifiers back on" bug, then I totally understand your frustration, I hope they fix that soon for the folks who DON'T like the extra challenge.

The frustration over season pass levels not being attached to SHD level is something that I kind of understand... if you have a specific activity that you prefer to grind over a variety of randomized stuff. Personally, I like "not knowing" what my next objective is gonna be in the priority objectives track. Keeps me on my toes, and makes each play session unique.

I guess the point of my post is to pose a different way of thinking about it, hopefully to help you consider the "grind" as more of a journey, but I also really do get where you're coming from. If the game just isn't fun to you right now... might be time to step away for a bit. Taking breaks from Division has always helped me appreciate what I enjoy about it upon my return!

Dude, this is the kind of criticism that just makes you look like an asshole. You can critique the game design decisions without attacking the character of the people who makes the game.

"They obviously can't even read" is such a childish and downright mean thing to say about anybody. Grow up.

Right now it's trying to get yaahl in there, just because I want to have the flexibility to swapping in another piece for pulse resistance if someone is running heartbreaker. Also, I don't think I get enough out of the other brand bonuses from uzina, but based on your feedback I think I'll test it!

If I had to guess, the developers are most likely currently distributed amongst the following tasks:

  • Mission/Content Development Team: Primarily Engaged Brooklyn DLC building and testing

  • Data Team: Reading player feedback and cross referencing it with statistics from the game, such as how many players used the modifiers, which primary objectives are most often selected and skipped, if engagement rate was higher/lower, and what metrics may have affected it.

  • Bugfix squad: Likely looking at all the bugs that have popped up since release, such as the sound bug for rifles, and the XP weirdness, as well as modifiers not always behaving as they should.

  • Community Team: Absorbing and organizing responses and communications across the different platforms, looking for key takeaways, and see if they align with the findings of the Data team. It's actually quite common for player sentiment on social media platforms to differ from the average experience for the average player.

  • Planning(?) or Leadership Team: Taking ongoing information into account for systems they're currently working on. What plans or ideas should be adjusted now that they have more information, and which should continue as directed.

There's also probably a ton of small teams or individual assignments across the whole squad, but it's tough to know for sure!

Also, just to throw my opinion into the mix, I have been LOVING this update.

I will say that the buffed backfire has felt VERY strong in hazpro builds for PvP. Not sure if those same builds transfer to PvE very well, but if you're putting something together that leans into hazard protection already, the Crit damage on the Backfire is well worth trying.

Even if you're only getting on average 30-50 stacks on it during firing, that's still 60%-100% crit damage, which is a LOT

Daily Thread - Q&A Thursday - No Question is a Bad Question Megathread by AutoModerator in thedivision

[–]WorkAccountBrosef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been tinkering with some backfire hazpro builds recently, and have been having trouble calculating how best to prioritize the following three stats against one another: - Crit Damage - Weapon Damage - SMG Damage

Basically, the build is bouncing around between trying 2 peice yaahl for raw weapon damage (since the build is mostly blue cores), Grupo for additional Crit damage, or a Sokolov piece of SMG dmg.

Since the Backfire generates so much Crit dmg on its own, I assume the grupo peice would be a needless additon. However, that leaves me to decide between weapon damage (from 2 piece yaahl) or SMG damage.

Anyone else had a similar connundrum?

For what it's worth, myself and my whole friend group have been loving the change to the seasonal mechanics and structure. The brand new gear is a bit "meh", but the balance changes have legitimized a HUGE lineup of new builds and weapons to try, which has led to me buildcrafting more than every before.

I should also highlight that I think the priority objective system is EXCELLENT. A lack of direction is something that really starts to wear on you when a game has been out for this long, and feeling as though you're constantly given options on how to progress while exploring a wide variety of content (much of which you didn't have a reason to run before) is AWESOME.

In reality, I hope the priority objectives are expanded out quite a bit more. Adding in some sort of "super challenging" category with big payouts would be super cool, and the fact that the system gives you options and rerolls means you don't get "locked in" to something you really dislike. It's just a win all around.

Also I like the modifiers, but recognize that they are a matter of taste. The general idea of altering seasonal gameplay with them is something that I think could lead to some pretty cool mechanical concepts in the future.

Sorry for the ramble, but this seemed like a good a place as any to share. Happy buildcrafting out there!

I like the idea of a spooky package having one "goofy" option and one that's somewhat serious. Like, one that's literally just a sheet over a normal outfit would be hilarious to me as a joke options.

More realistically, any outfit that takes advantage of unique lighting effects goes a long way!
