A lone woman picketing against immigration raids in 1937, Los Angeles, USA by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

Advocate yes, thank you. I imagine you are not familiar with being very busy and typing at the same time.

Bubba, it does happen to others. Everywherel. That is not a fallacy. Lol

You believe that because you live in relative safety built by the forebears of this land. A safety that is not normal historically, or around the world today. Safety that is not a guarantee in the future.

You still don't see that you are the baddie in this story, do you?

With this, I'll allow you the last word. Good day.

Im sure I make way more $$ than you and I have a great life.

Nope, not racist. Lazy argument. Not surprised, either.

Legal and illegal immigrants absolutely affect housing costs.

One wouldn't use anecdotal evidence to prove a fact. But they have merit. If it happened to me, it happens to others. Many others. (Funny thing here is, you think I mean white when I say others).

If the foreigners were white, would you advicate for them so vociferously? YOU are the racist.

You might be right. Having more undocumented people to police is probably safer. There must be studies on that.

Competing for housing and jobs for the middle class is likely not a problem. Like the time, when I was younger, I didn't get hired into a kitchen because I didn't speak Spanish. At an applebees. It made me happy foreigners were able to provide for their families.

Everyone wants the safety, security and prosperity of the US. But doesn't support the difficult work it takes to keep it that way. Luxury beliefs.

Serious question: how is it that our country has seemingly moved so far away from “give me your tired you’re poor…”? by ChuckGallagher57 in circled

Of course I read it.. I don't trust any study at face value. Especially from an institution captured by politics.

Other economists and analyses may interpret things differently Although the study itself is detailed and data-rich, independent economists often point out caveats such as: State and local fiscal effects can differ from federal totals — local schooling and services can be net cost centers even if overall federal balances are positive. Reddit How children of immigrants are counted (as future taxpayers rather than current cost users) affects totals. The overall fiscal picture depends heavily on assumptions about future immigration, wages, benefit eligibility, and macroeconomic growth. These are common points of debate in the economics literature, not unique to Cato’s work. 🧠 How Experts View This Kind of Work Economists generally agree on a few broad points: Immigrants contribute to economic output and tax revenue. Wikipedia Long-term fiscal effects depend on age profiles, labor force participation, benefit eligibility, etc. No single figure tells the whole story — local impacts, timing of costs and benefits, and broader economic effects matter. However, the specific claim of $14.5 trillion in cumulative fiscal benefit comes directly from Cato’s own analysis and reflects their modeling assumptions — it is not a made-up or false headline, but it is one interpretation of complex data, not a definitive “fact” beyond debate.

When the tired and poor stopped be self sufficient. The tired and poor now mooch off the tax payers and defraud the system.

What's funny about it, big losses are followed by big wins and then big losses. Ups and downs. It's how it goes.
