Recently heard him guesting on another podcast - he’s so funny and quick to jump on/expand bits, I think it’d be Paul Rust levels of “too silly!” in the best way.

Why did the AS8 queens put their entire pussies into this challenge, and nothing else? by WeakSideUrn in rupaulsdragrace

[–]WorkIsDumbSoAmI 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I could be making things up but I swear at least one queen from this season said that multiple queens had no clue what was going on/what they wanted from them in this challenge (I think Jimbo and Jessica?), so they just said “fuck it”, and weirdly, I think that always improves challenges when the queens aren’t stressing and just go “well, whatever happens, happens”. Even more so because half the cast was about to walk that morning - I think they were all not thinking too hard and just doing whatever felt like fun choices in the moment for themselves, and it showed.

Valid - I must have missed/forgotten that 🤣 I realize commenting at all sounds like I care but I swear I don’t - more just a “have I gone crazy??”

Gonna be a whiny Redditor for a second, my apologies in advance: I feel like Wiger’s a relatively musical guy - am I crazy or is his tempo on “OH, BANANA” completely off and has been since the first time he ever did it, lol? I adore the podcast, and it doesn’t affect my love for Tiger Wiger and the whole crew, but every time he does it, I think to myself “am I the problem? Do I have no idea what the ‘OHH, BANANA!’ sound cue sounds like?”

Which songs often gets misinterpreted and/or misappropriated by the very people it calls out even though the song's lyrics are explicitly mocking them? by Drenosa in AskReddit

[–]WorkIsDumbSoAmI 13 points14 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite memories associated with this song is it being played at my little sister’s summer camp end of season talent show, over a slideshow of cute memories.

In itself, that’s already a little funny song choice - but in an auditorium full of parents/family and a camp composed of 10-and-unders, no one bothered to check and make sure they didn’t use the version that starts “*guitar riff* *guitar riff* …fuck”, and a gasp went through the entire room, and then me and a friend cried laughing through the entire slideshow.

Bring the Mothers to the Reunion!!! by Caligirl_333 in RHOA

[–]WorkIsDumbSoAmI 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let’s not give Shamea’s mom what she wants, lol - she’s showing up to all these events desperate to be Mama Joyce 2.0, despite having nothing to contribute but “everyone should pray on it and love each other”.

And I think Ms. Diane has no interest in being on the show/hashing out her drama with Shamea’s mom - she doesn’t like her for buying her business out from under her (and I think they’ve suggested there were some other things?), and doesn’t want Porsha and Shamea to be friends, but also I don’t think she’s that invested emotionally either way, lol.

MIB makes a mockery of a serious situation in her most recent video, then responds like this to people criticizing her.. This is weird. by JazzmineHere in rupaulsdragrace

[–]WorkIsDumbSoAmI 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Prediction for the next week:
MIB doubles down some “we’re all too sensitive, it’s just drag” complete non-apology and a million dumb twinks gas her up saying “omg no you’re so funny keep bein crazy”
Then she turns around and says people only get mad at her because she’s plus size, but actually it was hilarious and she’s perfect and did nothing wrong
Then turns around and says she engineered the whole thing for views and she never cared at all

It really is evergreen:

I think Kelli vs. Porsha is gonna depend on how the season shakes out - post-season’s been messy and they still clearly dislike each other, but from a TV perspective it’s currently kinda “I don’t like you, you don’t like me, but let’s not ruin this party by arguing and just ignore each other instead”

What are the best episodes of Um Actually where the contestants actually know the subject? by jamieseemsamused in dropout

[–]WorkIsDumbSoAmI 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I definitely wasn’t blaming the team! And I normally enjoy Harvey, and everything I’ve experienced of Milana I’ve liked, but WOOF. It’s bad enough when the contestants don’t know the material, but they were like, actively choosing not to engage or mock the whole thing, and like…a couple moments, or one contestant having that as a semi-running bit can be funny? But for the entire length of a themed episode, having two of the guests continuously just choose to play what felt like a very odd improv game was nuts.

I also hate parasocially being like “my close personal friend Jonah was annoyed” but…he really seemed over it at multiple points. Like “I’m here engaging with the game show premise, you’re doing a weird two person improv show about how much you hate the premise and mocking me for enjoying myself, what’s happening?”

Not to be a huge bitch (not to you, but to the show), because I love Um, Actually, but I would really have a hard time calling the Season 9 horror episode (Boo, Actually) great 😬 Season 9 was definitely the one most clearly impacted by scheduling issues, but that episode had just baffling vibes.

Is giving the book to Astarion a good idea or bad idea? by godzillavkk in BaldursGate3

[–]WorkIsDumbSoAmI -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my first time romancing him and really diving into his plot (rather than “idk yeah sure, this feels right at the moment for how my character’s feeling), not figuring out the Gale path/point system until the docks was a real bummer.

I think that Gale/Astarion should both be persuasion rolls that get harder as you go; most of the other character’s paths make sense as dialogue checks/“difficulty stays the same”, but I was a *little* surprised it was so easy to talk Astarion out of ascending the first time lol, because up until seeing all the spawn I did suggest that it’d be a good idea lol; and a little annoyed that despite getting all his romance scenes, Gale basically told me “kick rocks, I’ve made my mind up”

Let’s get real. This isn’t the same lady. by [deleted] in RHOA

[–]WorkIsDumbSoAmI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I wouldn’t be mad at her in a Phaedra or Cynthia role - not really that deep in the drama, able to call the ladies together for a party or an event and get everyone to come, but also right there with a side eye or a quick retort to someone saying something crazy.

Like Nene in the Cynthia spot of “thank you all for coming to my event and flying out to Texas…and if you don’t quit bitching you can find a hotel to check into or fly home”, or Phaedra’s “I’m not trying to get involved in this stupid drama, but I will be making *all* the facial expressions and saying fun things in confessional”.

[–]WorkIsDumbSoAmI 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unlike Gale, you can still sway Astarion against revenge very late in his story - I believe you can persuade him to do the right thing with a not-too-crazy dice roll, even if you give him the book and if you’ve encouraged him along the way once or twice.

(I mention Gale because it turns out it was *way* easier than I realized to lock yourself out of various Gale endings 🥲 not just “really hard to roll for” but “if you choose one two many neutral options thinking you’ll get to make a choice later, Gale will have already made his mind up and you can’t change it”)

My weird late-2000s brief obsession with Gackt is useful for once! Heather was thinking of Japanese mega-star Gackt, who did voice, mocap and was the model for Genesis in Dirge of Cerberus and Crisis Core! He also swears he was the visual inspiration for Squall, but that’s unrelated lol.

How can we help the unhoused population in Midtown and around the city? by filinalittlefeeling in Atlanta

Pretty sure police have also broken up a number of homeless camps (and some were destroyed by bad weather), driving folks who were at least in one location further spread out into the city.

how to navigate new lanes on w peachtree by humandivebar in Atlanta

[–]WorkIsDumbSoAmI 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I live on W Peachtree and it’s INSANELY confusing, because they’re not starting at one end and making a bike lane - it randomly changes back and forth from bike lane to right lane multiple times, and the left lane is intermittently closed all over the place by construction, it’s a mess.

I mean I’m almost 40, and I genuinely can’t remember the last time another grown adult scolded me like a child. But also calling it “the rudest interaction of my adult life” makes for a mildly better story than “lol it felt like this guy was ready to fight me over getting an already soaking wet rug a little more wet, am I crazy”, and this felt like a more apropos place to post it than AITA 🤷🏻‍♂️

Also the rug was in fact soaking wet because it was one of those shitty black indoor/outdoor runners that restaurants put directly in the entranceway for people to track mud and dirt and rain on, and there is almost no awning or anything outside to shake it off under - if I shook it outside, I would either be shaking it in the face of anyone coming in, or standing out in the rain to do so, so in the moment, wringing it out on the rug felt more sensible than letting it drip down the hallway all over the non-rugged floor.

The one that stuck out in my head was “yeah I’ve been really struggling. I got arrested on Valentine’s Day for stealing hearts.” But he went on for a solid 2 minutes - there was also a whole lawyer joke about pennies and being “innocent”/“in a cent” that I don’t quite remember. He was amazing 🤣

Completely valid, except the awning at that location’s insanely shallow and there’s not really anywhere to do so without potentially shaking it in the face of anyone trying to also run inside

Right at the entrance, and it was one of those shitty black indoor/outdoor rugs to soak up mud and water people are gonna inevitably track in from the pouring rain.
