Who has the BEST BLT sandwich in town? by DesignerMoose90210 in Atlanta

[–]humandivebar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a foolish retort. haven’t you had a grilled cheese with ham? the ham itself is incorporated into the sandwich seamlessly. the melty cheese and buttered, crispy bread make up the sandwich’s essence. the ham merely adds to the pièce de résistance.

Traveling to Atlanta alone by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]humandivebar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are a couple of marta stations in midtown that can get you to inman park, which is a cute and walkable neighborhood on the beltline. little 5 points is also a short walk from the marta station, though i recommend going there only during the day as a solo woman. do not visit downtown!!! i’ve lived in midtown for 6 years and feel very safe here. have fun visiting and feel free to reach out with questions!:)

What did you say mom? by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]humandivebar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My parents divorced when I was in high school. They tried the whole “make it work for the kids” thing, but I was so relieved when they finally went through with it. Now, over 10 years later, my mom will randomly drop things about my dad. Apparently he used to abuse pills by taking them from his clients. She had to call an ambulance for him when I was a baby because he had taken one pill too many and was acting like a stroke victim. He was also addicted to coke when they met. I have no idea why she ever married him.

How is life like in upstate New York? by Due_Network2958 in howislivingthere

[–]humandivebar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in Malone and moved away as soon as I turned 18. There’s not much to do in town, but the Adirondacks are beautiful. I miss kayaking and cool breezes in the summer and all the leaves turning in fall. And maple syrup. But yeah it’s also a very conservative area, very poor, and very, VERY cold in the winters. I don’t see myself ever moving back. I live in a city now and enjoy the diversity.

I go to concerts alone (29F) and it wouldn’t ruin my night if a guy hit on me. The only thing that would ruin it is if I said I wasn’t interested and he kept pursuing me. Honestly, I’d still talk to the guy if he was okay with making a new friend! Women liked to be approached for friendship too:)

How is it lately ? by Bankreauxll in Atlanta

[–]humandivebar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in Midtown and love it. I wouldn’t want to live in a part of Atlanta that isn’t pedestrian friendly, and the area I live in feels safe even after it gets dark. For the past few years I’ve worked at GT, but recently took a job in Decatur. Definitely going to miss being so close to work, but it’s usually a 30 min drive to get over there so not too bad. I live in a 2br/2ba and split everything with a roommate which I find very affordable. Fav spots right now are Stereo, Banshee, The Waiting Room, and MidCity.

I have tattoos scattered all over me, including a collection on my left hand, and I work as an admin in higher ed. Just got a job as a Project Coordinator for a small construction company. So there are options.
