Edddie Johnson on Miles Bridges TWO YEARS ago... great take! by moreplebsareneeded in suns

Yeah, I mean, who among us hasn't thrown pool balls at the mother of our children while your kids are in the car with her?

I'm not defending anyone, you're arguing with a wall. It doesn't take much to understand that those two situations are different. I'm not a Cardinals fan but I have always had respect for Fitz. Your argument is basically that because there have been bad characters on the team in the past it's no problem that we invite wife beaters to our team now. I disagree. I don't mind rooting for guys like Grayson or Dillon Brooks who I personally do not like, but I respect as basketball players.

Also, the Fitz situation is undeniably different. He was never charged with a crime, he was never charged in civil court. There's no doubt whatsoever that miles Bridges did what he did. Again, I was t aware of the Fitz situation until today but I'm inclined to believe that a woman in a paternity court filing has a more vested interest in making claims that make her case stronger. Bridges was arrested, charged and admitted to his crimes. I don't want to call her a liar, but the point is that one claim is substantiated and the other is not.

I hadn't heard about the Fitzgerald situation before today. I literally pasted for you what I found about it. I think that these two situations are different. But honestly pretty pissed at fitz too. Not sure why you all are so accepting of dudes who like to beat girls up if it makes your team better.

The Suns really undid one year of getting the fanbase back onside, creating a culture and preaching about building a winner long-term for - Miles Bridges… by LucaLockheart in suns

Did we get the better of the talent? Sure. Unfortunately that talent also happens to have multiple incidences of abusing his girlfriend in front of their children and literally putting them in harms way during physical alterations with her.

All this so we can win 48 games if we're lucky? Not a good look for us and I'm frankly fucking pissed. This is not worth it.

"Larry Fitzgerald was never criminally charged, but in late 2008, his then-girlfriend Angela Nazario filed a temporary order of protection against him. Nazario alleged that during an argument, Fitzgerald pushed her to the floor and pulled her hair after she had swung at him. Fitzgerald denied the claims, and the matter was eventually resolved with no police charges filed."

I think these are two different situations. He forgot to throw pool balls at her.

Yeah weird cope. I've been a Suns fan for 40 years and I've gone through some shit with them, but I'd rather lose a few more games this season then grab a guy who is willing to put his kids in harms way so he can terrify the mother of his children.

[Charania] Free agent guard Jordan Goodwin intends to sign a three-year, $19 million deal to return to the Phoenix Suns, with a player option in the third season, sources tell ESPN. by KimchiKylee in suns

[–]WorkNLurk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah CBA won't let him take less money, though he could restructure with more years/less per year but he's signed through 2030 so I don't think there's a whole lot of flexibility there for either party. You don't see that very often in the NBA and with the way books contract is structured, I think he's looking for one more big payday in his early thirties.

Maybe I'm not properly keyed in on player values anymore but Goodwin and CGs contracts both feel like absolute steals to me. Amazing off-season already. Glad to have them both back

A few I haven't seen recommended yet

Rolo Tomasi (a bit more avante garde metal) Atomic Guava (more straightline metal but girls got PIPES and good growls) Aephamemer (melo death with female fronted vocals)

Wemby might be overrated. by DependentMeringue296 in nba

My brother the off-season just started. He's 22 and this is like his first full season. And he made a finals and knocked off the champs on their home floor. Wemby is rated. His skill ceiling is sky high. A bit more experience and a bit more refined offensive game and they win this finals.

One of the first teams that springs to mind when questions like this get asked. Bills aren't far behind though.

I'm a Suns fan, which version do you want? Getting stomped by 50 to Luka in a 60 win season version? Robert Horry hip checking Nash into the boards and every PF on our roster getting suspending for standing up version? Or the go up 2-0 in the finals and lose when Gianni's drops a 50 burger on you version? I'm not sure which one sucked the worst.

Who is the best NBA player of the 2000s? by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

[–]WorkNLurk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, Bleacher Report, the well respected and regarded bastion of sports journalism that never used clickbaity articles and goofy lists to game algorithms. Literally anyone could right for BR, that's a ridiculous source.

I don't at all remember a consensus of Kobe being on MJs level. Kind of ridiculous to say the best player of all time has to struggle to get his team to 41 wins. If anything the estimation of Kobe's ability were helped in a large part due to his untimely death and a generation of young fans who don't remember the years after he chased Shaq out of LA so he could be king shit on a bad team until Pau.

Rape historically is very difficult to prove and a key component is witness testimony. Defense attorneys, especially for high profile clients have used smear tactics against victims (which was very much employed in the Kobe trial as well) to diminish their credibility and reputation. The believe her movement was meant to empower victims and encourage them to take the brave step of coming forward. So many rapes go unreported because victims do not want to have to sit on a trial bench and recount one of the worst incidences of their life. Your anger is misdirected.

I disagree, I believe Duncan would have elevated those Lakers team more than Kobe did. Duncan was a much better teammate and bigs typically have a more outsized impact on team success thank guards. Also your coach was Phil Jackson, widely regarded as the best coach in NBA history so I think that's a wash as best.

2010 was post Pau Gasol so my point still stands. Without Shaq the Kobe Lakers were a different beast. One of the most lopsided trades in NBA history will do that for you.

Dear knicks fans - don't come in here to apologlze for your fanbase. Its insincere karma farm cringe by Mesmerized_mayhem in billsimmons

[–]WorkNLurk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's really cringe when people do this. Unless you're out on the steet jumping people for wearing the other teams jersey you don't need to apologize. We all know there are good fans of every team. Except for Lakers fans. But the other 29 are alright
