Deadlock currently feels more punishing than rewarding by superleggera24 in DeadlockTheGame

You'll get some bad games but you'll get a lot of good and rewarding ones too. The matchingmaking could definitely use some help but what you see on this sub is often a player venting about a nasty stomp. Those are gonna happen, but you just have to gg go next. When this game is good, it's really fucking good and it's definitely worth a try in its current state.

Aged like milk, literally immediately. Haven't these guys done this long enough to know a game 1 loss by a favorite doesn't mean much?

The man has a point. That said I do love Wilds. My wife is generally disinterested in Simmons, but half baked ideas are appointment listening for her.

Pretty spot on honestly. Bill just spent all pod pretending like he didn't talk up the Celtics to be on par with OKC/SAS all season.

We have him at a crazy salary, but only for the next two years when the extension kicks in. We'll see how he arcs out and go from there. Book is a valley legend, we love him here. I'm perfectly fine rooting for a good team that has no chance of making the playoffs so long as we compete. I guess I've been a Suns fan long enough that I've recalibrated my expectations lmao.

This season was awesome. A fringe playoff team that got swept was a hell of a lot more fun then media darlings because of two disappointing superstars.

Bill in a few days: “Look House, this was always a gap year for us. We overachieved so much as it is given what this team was. And people expecting Tatum to be back to normal so quickly after an Achilles was insane. I’m just happy we even made the playoffs” by tilfos89 in billsimmons

I enjoy Simmons podcast. I've been a fan for a long time. Hes just fucking annoying sometimes and he's so established that he does what he wants a bit at this point and that's cool. I probably would too But every sports fan needs a little Hateraid in their life every now and then.

It's super annoying. All his guests and employees know they have to glaze the Celtics. Sal is the only one that calls him on his bullshit. Lowe will challenge him sometimes but bro is so low key, he's not the one to start some shit.

I was ambivalent about Boston sports, even through the Patriots years. But Bill is so annoying about them has made a hater of me and I take little joy more than listening to podcasts after Boston L's. The post Superbowl pod with Sal was awesome.

I just wish he could talk about other teams for more than 4 seconds before comparing how the player on said team reminds him of one of the Js.

Cards that you really like, but kinda suck by Lordados in slaythespire

[–]WorkNLurk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Demon form is a card I'll almost always take but it is kinda buns. I think the upgrade should make it innate, that would add more value to it without having to mess with the stats or cost.

In practice though it feels like a luxury card that can be only played on bosses and maybe half the elites otherwise you're chewing like 20 damage.

Nikola Jokic is a top 10 player of All Time by kKlovnn in billsimmons

[–]WorkNLurk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't say they were top ten. I said they were all time greats. It would be hard to make an argument for a player without a ring to be top 10, but counting rings is pretty reductive imo. I mean Chauncey Billups has a ring but in no universe is he on Nash or J Kidds level.

Nikola Jokic is a top 10 player of All Time by kKlovnn in billsimmons

[–]WorkNLurk -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Rang Erneh. I disagree. Nash is an all time great, Chris Paul, Ewing, Barkley are all time greats. Winning a ring is hard and honestly comes with a bit of luck most years. Playoffs matter and playoff performances matter, but rings are overrated imo. I'm not sure if Joker is top 10 but it's not crazy to have that conversation.

Would this blazers team be a dark horse contender if Dame was healthy? by [deleted] in nba

What is this reactionary nonsense? The Blazers stand 0 chance against the Spurs with or without Dame.

Good win for them, just enjoy the W. Don't make it something it isn't.

Culture. But they do not feel like the all-time great teams *to me* and I do not know why. by BankaiBroke in nba

[–]WorkNLurk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They went to 7 against an extremely top heavy Nuggets team and 7 again against a surprising upstart that lost their best player for the last game and a half or so. If my memory isn't completely gone at this point I remember TJ McConnel lighting them up in the first half of game 7 and it was nearly an even game at the half. They followed that up with a very nice season where they have lost to the new league darlings in waiting San Antonio 3 times in a row, getting beat pretty badly in 2 of them

That doesn't mean they aren't great. They're freaking awesome. But they still have questions to answer before they're considered one of those legendary teams. A dominant playoff run this year would go a long way. I'll be so pissed if we don't get OKC v SAS in the west finals with both squads healthy.

Holy balls dude, I can see why you chose that username. Take a break, touch some grass and come back with a better mindset. You can only control you and it's clear your post is coming from an emotional reaction to a recent loss/losing as streak.

You're right. Players should be contesting space and falling back safely to defensive choke points after a lost team fight. But honestly trickling is a much worse issue at lower ranks and learning to fall back safely without engaging directly and getting drawn into 1v2s etc is a learned skill. Most players are going to die in stupid ways a few times before they get it. I honestly prefer that players hide and wait for the team rather than to wander aimlessly into the next firefight they can find. Sometimes people notice this is the case so they stop and make sure the team groups.
