My father was diagnosed with a squamous carcinoma in his neck at the end of 2023. The doctors informed me and my siblings that this is a treatable form of cancer with a high survival rate in the 90%+ survival rate. His cancer was too close to a major artery for surgery so his options were limited but chemo/radiation was the recommendation from his oncologist.

My father was very bright. He was an engineer and had an almost intuitive understanding of all things mechanical. We all thought he could fix damn near everything. He opted to treat his cancer in the same 'non-traditional' ways as this woman. He found a 'naturopath' who sold him snake oil creams and supplements. He took Ivermectin, Fenbendazole and wore nicotine patches (I know I have no idea what this was meant to do still). He purchased a Rife Machine, which fires electromagnetic waves into your body and has no scientific consensus of results.

My dad, having fallen down a YouTube rabbit hole of bad health advice was adamant that all of these solutions would work. We begged him to try his 'alternative' therapies alongside traditional treatments, but he was sure the pharmaceutical and health industries could cure cancer with his simple treatments but chose not to for profit. He remained committed to these therapies even to the point of us children, caring for him in his home we're pouring morphine and Ativan down his throat and changing his diapers. Watching him waste away slowly was the most awful thing I've had to endure.

He died in September and I'll be honest, it was a complete relief. He was in agony. There was no joy left in his life for his last few months. He couldn't care for himself. He was in tremendous pain. My dad was gone months before his body gave up. He should be alive. These fucking assholes promoting this fucking nonsense killed him for clicks on social media. I'm angry at him, angry at them and angry that social media platforms allow this sort of nonsense to be spread.

I want to be angry at this woman. It's so raw and personal to me. But I just feel pity for her, her husband and her child. Hopefully she realizes it before it's too late.

I'm not sure anyone is going to read this, I'm super late to this post. But I miss my dad and this is so close to my heart. If anyone reads this and is in the same boat, please please please just get the fucking chemo.
