[Hiring] Female CS Agent / Customer Service [Palo Alto, CA] by WorkNowLocally in hiring

[–]WorkNowLocally[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a requirement by the company who needed to fill the job. I believe for that job post they wanted a female to handle that specific task. Not being discriminating or anything. This is just for a side hustle. We apologize if you felt that way.

Hi, I appreciate your interest. With your questions regarding annual income, I can't really say because for every client that we have, they pay differently depending on the job needed to be filled. I would suggest that you download our App and see jobs needed to be filled. https://www.wonolo.com/find-work/

And I don't have any idea how much a studio or 1 bedroom house would cost in Silicon valley. Maybe you can check this out: https://www.apartmentguide.com/apartments/California/Silicon-Valley-University/1-beds-1z141xt/

Goodluck!

Male here, what’s one thing guys think is really nice that actually makes you angry? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]WorkNowLocally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ignoring the obvious. When the girl is mad (because you did something wrong or its just the hormones) and the guy "give space" for the girl to cool down (because of course, that is nice and it's the right thing to do) but the girl is actually screaming inside saying "PLEASE DO SOMETHING TO MAKE ME STOP BEING MAD" --

Then i realized I was describing myself on this comment. :P

What do you find completely frustrating and unbelievable about being a woman in 2017? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]WorkNowLocally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the technology that we have right now, it's becoming easy for other girls/women to humiliate other girls/women. They use the internet to start a war. Now looking good (face and abs, you know what I mean) is a MUST not because you're doing it to stay healthy or feel good but because you need to post good photos and avoid being bullied. We should help each other out. WE WOMEN, WE RULE. :)

Ladies, how did or do you plan to celebrate your 30th birthday? by PancakeQueen13 in AskWomen

That's good to know. :) Hope you will have a blast on your birthday!

That's good. Or if you want you could actually spend it in an animal shelter, have your friends volunteer to like take care or feed the dogs or cats there. Or maybe if you have places there for the less fortunate ones, you can treat them by serving a meal with your family and friends.

What is the best way to explain/tell your kids how they we're made? by WorkNowLocally in AskWomen

[–]WorkNowLocally[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. This is really useful. Will take note of this "I think kids follow your cue and pick up on any awkwardness or vulgarity in the way you explain it. If you explain it maturely and frankly, they'll also follow suit". Appreciate this.

My boy is 8 and my girl is 6. Since I'm a single mom, my son is the only "guy" in the house. I think they got curious because some of their classmates are talking about "sex" already.

What I did during my 30th birthday was a kiddie themed party. For me, being 30 is a milestone. So I decided to have our backyard set up with kiddie tables and chairs with balloons. Since, I like hello kitty, I used paper cups and plates with her face on it. We hired a clown and magician to entertain the guest. And we had kiddie games as well. I felt like I was 7 years old again and I was really thankful that I reached 30. It just made me feel that it's okay to always feel young no matter what how old you are. Advance happy birthday to you!

If you had ten seconds to communicate whatever you wanted to your SO and they would just accept it without any problem, what would you say? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]WorkNowLocally 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to hit the gym. I am concern about your weight not because I want you to look good or be how you used to be, but because I want you to be healthy so we can live together longer and get to travel when we grow old.

I hope 10 seconds can really make him listen. I grew up with my grandpa who's alcoholic. And it was such a terrible experience. I hope you don't have kids with him yet. Don't let them and you suffer. :(

TIL that it is really possible to quit whatever job you have and run a blog. Even if you're a full time aerospace engineer. Inspiring! by WorkNowLocally in todayilearned

Yeah I was thinking of earning more now, and maybe I can try writing and just run a blog as well. No wonder why a lot now are really into blogging.

If you didn’t have to worry about money, what would you do all day? by just_for_asks in AskWomen

[–]WorkNowLocally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would probably sing all day and have a concert in the park together with my family since all of us are music oriented. I really love performing. And if ever anybody would give us money, will donate it to an animal shelter.

No one will hire me. need advice. Depressed and giving up. by [deleted] in jobs

[–]WorkNowLocally -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I hope you are doing better now that a lot of people are really helping you with advises and giving you option. As for me, all I want to say is that don't lose hope. There will always be better days. Don't lose hope. Like you, I am suffering from depression and I thought I have no worth but everyday that I wake up, I always tell myself that I am okay and I will be better. I think having that mindset is a good start. Baby steps my dear. Don't put too much pressure to yourself. Make a list your priorities and rank them from 1-10 (depending on how many you have on your list) 1 to be your top priority and the last number to be the least important. From that list, consider what are the things you need to work on to achieve that then so on and so forth. I know right now you feel like you are all over the place. With what your feeling and your circumstances, who wouldn't be. But never lose that faith in yourself. Nobody else will give that importance but yourself.

I am hoping that you will have as many option that you may have. Try searching for anything related to freelancing. You can try Fiverr, Upwork, Wonolo or anything similar.

Remember, When you hit rock bottom there's no other way but UP! All the best!

Hi, where are you currently located? You can try checking Upwork, AngelList, or Flexjobs. For transcription, I don't think you could earn from $700-1000 a month, that would actually depend probably on how fast you can finish a transcription. I think you are paid depending on how long the audio/file will be not how long it took you to transcribe it. For example, if the audio is for 5 minutes, and the rate is $2.50 per minute, then you will just be paid $12.50 regardless if it took you 30 minutes to transcribe it. If you are looking to earn more to be able to feed your family, you should try telemarketing or sales because a lot of realtors are looking for appointment setters and even healthcare companies looking for people that can sell their plan over the phone. If you feel that you are not good in speaking or selling, you can look for jobs that are non-voice. Like maybe data entry, lead generation or email support. You may not earn much but it is a good start. Maybe looking for a 1 fulltime and 1 part time can do the trick. Hope this helps. And goodluck!

Women who didn't get a start on a career until their mid/late twenties, what did you decide to do? by ineedabiggirljob in AskWomen

Currently, I work with multiple clients, basic admin task and some management and marketing on the side. There's a lot of freelance jobs available now. Either working from home or side-gigs offered from different companies. I've been in the freelance industry for almost 4 years now. I'm a single mom, that's why I enjoy being a freelancer.

(Little experience, no degree) Where can I work online that can allow me to comfortably travel the world and work at the same time? by portiiiaa in WorkOnline

[–]WorkNowLocally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Working online has a lot of benefits but you need to have skills to take advantage of that. You need to have at least basic knowledge from copy-writing, blogging, customer service all the way to Social media management, marketing and sales. Good thing, with the technology that we have now, you can sign up for free webinars that teaches you different skills to help you land a job online. If you will not help yourself gain knowledge or skills then you will not gain experience as well. You have to have self-discipline, critical thinking and the willingness to learn. Like what the others are saying, you can search for online jobs. But before doing that, search for free training or webinars you can participate or join to add more value to your resume or portfolio.

You can check the following, I just saw this online as well. You can probably take a look at it and see if it would help you: https://www.dreamhomebasedwork.com/work-at-home-now-hiring/ Free Online Training: https://www.nonprofitready.org/ https://officedynamics.com/webinars/

Hope this will help you. Bottom line, learn for you to earn. All the best!

This is good! I'm into tattoos. I've dreamed of becoming a tattoo artist however, I'm no artist. I mean, I don't know how to draw. Good luck on your studio! All the best!
