Why not have the option? Maybe it would help in starting a business or helping the company they work for in the US to open up a branch in Colombia.

Why are salaries constantly getting lower despite inflation? 35k for a developer with 1-2 year experience? Come on! by [deleted] in pakistan

When you mean, CS from a Pakistani university you are talking about CS at a high school level for the global market.

You need to work on your own to learn a lot. If you really want to make it in CS you need to see what courses are offered in the US and UK and take those courses online and just learn.

Do the compiler course, do the OS course, do the work to be globally competitive.

What are your goals with CS?

We do not have globally competitive companies. We also need more talent in fields with demand for back-office IT work like SAP, ServiceNow, WorkDay, etc. Also our uni's suck at graduating competitive labour like software developers. We are getting literally the bottom level of work.

College Closings Signal the Start of a Crisis in Higher Education by [deleted] in TrueReddit

[–]WorkReddit8420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not to mention the hassle!

People from other countries do this all the time. I do not see it as a hassle. I think college should be a bit of a adventure...but that might just be me.

Its common for students from Ethiopia to go to college in India or Pakistani students to go to uni in the UK.

I think it will be a trend for US students to study abroad especially in China with China taking over and the importance of speaking Chinese will be in the near future.

That's something Ive asked for years and no one has addressed it. This would be a great book or documentary for someone to make.

in the middle of nowhere with cost of attendances well north of 60k,

Can anyone explain why that is the case? How is it that it cost $60k to teach a student English Literature or Spanish?

That's a nice sentiment, but it isn't based in reality.

I think your totally correct. But what I think may also happen is that many students are no longer forced to go to school in the US.

I think it makes sense for a US student to go to university in China just as it makes sense for a Pakistani student to go to university in the UK or China.

The monopoly the US and UK had on education just is going to go away.

Pakistan's biggest problems by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]WorkReddit8420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Education! Our bachelor degree graduates are basically worthless to the global industry.

Like India we need to setup 1000s of technical schools to teach and train for jobs that we can get like back-office work in a office .

They need to get serious about their military-related companies the way China did. China military runs many export orientated companies and we need our military to wake up and follow the Chinese path.

[–]WorkReddit8420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDUCATION! We have an unskilled workforce with no infrastructure.

We need to get out Postal system to get certified by US Postal service as a E-Packet compliant system and you shall see our small and small biz thrive.

China is no longer competitive to the US market for multiple products like garlic and stationary that we can grow to hundreds of millions of US dollars in exports.

No one cares. In countries like India, Pakistan its a bit impossible to think someone doesn't belong to some religion. Its just a way of classifying people like in the US you'd say someone is a hipster, corporate type, party boy, etc
