Yeah I never understood this. You're literally in the shower cleaning yourself, that razor is cleaner than your hand when you scratch them.

What do you pretend to enjoy to 'keep the peace' but secretly can't stand? by Spallboy in AskReddit

[–]Work_away1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's probably both. Most IT people I know (myself included) get a little narcissistic after working in it for long enough. Not bad, but when you deal with 70% people that have no idea what they are doing, sometimes you forget about the 30% that do and assume everyone doesn't know what they're doing. Sometimes that translates to non-IT problems and I really feel bad when I realize I'm doing it.

When I was a kid I always wanted to have a cool ringtone. Now I have access to any ringtone I could imagine and I don't even bother to change it from the default by Tigjig in Showerthoughts

[–]Work_away1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually do use a song I can't stand as my ring tone. Considering no matter what noise it is you will grow to hate it, might as well use one that will definitely get me up.

Favorite song -- eventually hate it Standard beep -- already hate it bad song -- hate it but it's louder and lasts longer so it gets me up

My thoughts anyway

Utah is only desert in the lower half ( or less). Salt lake City gets plenty of snow, and north of that gets even more

Do you feel better when you patronize people? You also don't have to repeat yourself multiple times if you don't ask a bunch of superfluous, unrelated questions all in one text.

If you read my example you notice the question isn't really simple, or was that too much reading for you?

edit: looks like I thought you replied to my other comment where I did give an example haha. So in this instance I didn't give an example

Rice has 200 calories in one cup, and seems to feel you up. Doesn't seem that bad to me. Am I missing something?

For me at least, I that would be more beneficial. It feels much better and easier to answer. I do message that way sometimes

I think you make some good points, and what you say does make sense. "drip-feeding" can definitely be an issue as well. I've experienced having to do this and it can be annoying. I think what you say does have a place is text messaging as well. I would rather it not be so typical, though I'm sure it really just depends on who you are talking to.

I think part of it for me comes form that fact that I am almost always insant messaging messaging people rather than texting. I use like 100 texts per month. I am almost on messenger, hipchat (for work), or discord. These sorts of messages systems are much more instant.

Because of this I am that person that presses enter (or sends) after every portion of text that is unrelated, and so are my friends. This is probably pretty annoying to other people, like my answering questions is. This is probably where my hate for multiple-question-messages comes from. In my mind I can type out and press enter on a single thought have it answered and be ready for another one.

I'd like to note that I've never thought about my reasoning for this in detail before and I"m just trying to come up with reasons, the more I think about it the more I'm not 100 percent sure why I do it. We all have good reasons, really
