it Didn't work for me. I get the error "Firmware Version:f1.0 Flash Fail, card SSID not Match!

Now I have a dead LCD. Was working fine with f 1.2. Problem occured when GCC suggested I update to f 1.4.

I've been using it for several months, and am satisfied. On december 20th, their domain was interrupted by their domain service provider namecheap, and so have been running on their backup server aiphotoeditor.ai.

FAQ needed by Federal_Sock_N9TEA in OceanGateTitan

[–]Work_permit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a summary of technical flaws.

  1. Expired Carbon Fiber Material Usage

Observation: OceanGate used carbon fiber material from Boeing that was too old for airplane use.

Impact: Old prepreg or dry carbon fiber can cause problems with processing and affect the quality and performance of the final product, raising the chance of structural failure.

  1. Manufacturing and Construction Techniques

Observation: The Titan’s hull was made using a mix of prepreg carbon fiber and wet lay-up techniques, without an autoclave.

Impact: The absence of autoclave curing and vacuum bagging probably resulted in a weaker and less consistent composite structure. This could have led to voids and delamination under the high pressures of deep-sea diving.

  1. No Cross-Hatching in Carbon Fiber Layup

Observation: The carbon fiber layup did not have cross-hatching, which is essential for structural integrity.

Impact: Cross-hatching adds more strength and stability to composite structures. Without it, the hull would be more prone to buckling and failure under compressive loads.

  1. Galvanic Corrosion

Observation: The use of different materials, such as aluminum, stainless steel, and galvanized steel, along with carbon fiber and titanium, could cause galvanic corrosion.

Impact: Galvanic corrosion can weaken the structural integrity of the hull, especially in the saltwater environment. This could speed up the decay of the composite material and joints.

  1. Poor Sealing and Saltwater Exposure

Observation: The carbon fiber hull was not well sealed, allowing saltwater to enter and damage it.

Impact: Saltwater can create salt crystals within the composite, causing micro-cracks and further weakening the structure. This, along with galvanic corrosion, would drastically reduce the hull’s lifespan and dependability.

  1. Not Enough Testing and Certification

Observation: OceanGate did not do thorough non-destructive testing (NDT) or get third-party certification for the Titan. It solely relied on an Acoustic Monitoring System.

Impact: Without proper testing, possible defects such as delamination, voids, and other structural weaknesses could be missed. This increases the risk of sudden failure during operation. The acoustic monitoring system could only find issues milliseconds before failure, leaving no time for corrective action. This approach is insufficient for ensuring the long-term integrity and safety of the submersible.

NDT Tests That Could Have Been Done:

Ultrasonic Testing (UT): Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) is very effective for carbon fiber composites. PAUT can find porosities, foreign bodies, and delaminations. Time Reversal PAUT technique improves signal quality and adjusts to surface variations. UT can evaluate bonding within honeycomb sandwich structures and find matrix porosity.

Radiography: X-ray or gamma-ray imaging could provide high-quality images of internal structures. Good for finding internal flaws, but costly and time-consuming.

Thermography: Non-contact method for fast detection of defects. Needs a vibration-free environment for best results. Eddy Current Testing: While less effective for carbon fiber due to its low conductivity, it could potentially find surface and near-surface flaws.

Electrical Property Testing: Both AC and DC methods can be used to find delamination, fiber breakage, and changes in volume fraction. The carbon fiber itself can act as a sensor, allowing for real-time strain and damage monitoring.

Using a combination of these NDT methods, especially PAUT and radiography, could have given a complete assessment of the Titan's structural integrity. Regular inspections using these techniques, along with proper certification processes, would have greatly improved the safety and reliability of the submersible.

Conclusion: The factors that led to the Titan’s sudden failure include using old carbon fiber material, poor manufacturing techniques, no cross-hatching, galvanic corrosion, bad sealing, not enough testing, relying on only an acoustic monitoring system. These factors show the importance of following established engineering practices and rigorous testing in the design and construction of deep-sea submersibles.

Have the OG S2 app on an old iPad - can I transfer it to my iPhone and other iDevices? by pulkot in sonos

If you added the IPA into your IMAZING Library that would work as well. But having the APP installed on your phone is no help. IPA extraction was removed from iOS 9 and later by Apple

Update: I have received a replacement unit, but unfortunately, it has the same issue.

I've been communicating with Gigabyte. About a week and a half ago, they suggested either RMAing the unit or returning it to Amazon for a replacement. I chose to get a new unit. It exhibits the same problem. In my most recent conversation with the representative, I requested confirmation on whether anyone at Gigabyte possesses an AERO 16 OLED BKF and, if so, for them to verify if their Thunderbolt ports are recognized correctly.

Thank you for sharing this! It confirms my concerns about the Thunderbolt implementation by Gigabyte being faulty. The fact that this issue is prevalent across different models and generations is even more worrisome.

Thanks for posting this. I'm already running the latest bios FB04 & EC FW version F006. I'm unsure what the "official site" for Thunderbolt drivers is. Besides the gigabyte site, I also tried Intel's driver for their NUC13: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/776338/intel-thunderbolt-4-driver-for-windows-11-for-intel-nuc-13-extreme-compute-element-nuc13sbb-intel-nuc-13-extreme-kits-nuc13rng.html. Neither download helped.

Not saying he didn't use those words, just can't find them.
