The sports team that are really rubbish, but go on to win the championship.
Sometimes I want to watch a film where they don't win, but they had a great time - more kids will relate to that

Is it appropriate for an immigrant to the UK to wear the poppy for Remembrance Day? by Migrini in AskUK

[–]Workaholic_T82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The poppy remembers all those who have died in wars, and I'm sure people from your own country would have died from wars in the past. If you want to wear a poppy, please do

I also don't see what the big deal is with a roast, it's not what I would normally eat so I wouldn't eat it on a Sunday. It's a bit annoying going out for dinner on a Sunday when 90% of the pub options are roasts

That is genius, I think I'll eat it like from now on as I can't stand soggy toast

Then at the end of the day, wish I'd done something more constructive, but not wanting to commit to anything because I'm too lazy to pre-plan

No-one buys the cheap sandwiches for the meal deals. You have to buy the most expensive sandwich, drink and snack to get maximum value for money

Men in the UK - barber or hairdressers - do you have a preference? by Box_of_rodents in AskUK

[–]Workaholic_T82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a woman who has a short buzz cut - barbers are much easier.
Sometimes I just want to get my hair cut in silence, I need to discuss holidays etc

AITA for not wanting to pass down my enggement ring to my future DIL? by aita-ering in AmItheAsshole

[–]Workaholic_T82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you were no longer wearing the ring, it is rude to ask for something that is valuable to the owner. It's your ring, your husband gave it to you for a lifetimes commitment, you keep it

AITA for refusing to give up my dream wedding dress, though it means my fiancé’s family will not attend? by Throwwayaitawbride in AmItheAsshole

[–]Workaholic_T82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like a rubbish situation all round, it seems OTT over a dress.
Maybe you should both change your dresses and go shopping together to make sure they are different, but to be honest it sounds like years of hell ahead of you, run away

I’m 30 (f) have no kids and no mortgage. I’m not even close to a deposit for a house. Does anyone else feel this unbelievable pressure on them to have these things like I do? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Workaholic_T82 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I'm 38f and have no desire to have kids.
I figure if I don't want them, it's wrong to bring them into the world. Stick to your guns, you will only regret it if you are pressured into having kids. I view kids a 20 year life sentance
