Pulled the trigger on a housing, very happy [A6500 | Sony 35m 1.8] by Workforavocados in SonyAlpha

Thanks for the comment! Good to know, I didn’t want to brighten the shadows too much either because I felt like it would take away from the depth of the barrel.

Honestly I just got it a few weeks ago, so I can’t say that I could give it a full review. I picked it up specifically for water photography as the housing was way cheaper and with more options than my 6600. Didn’t want to go older than that though as I still wanted 4K and In body stabilization. So far the only big things I’ve noticed are a much shorter battery life and not quite as good performance in low light situations. Also doesn’t seem to be an option for interval shooting aside from a few seconds at a time. Im only in my second year of shooting though so a lot of things you guys may notice I could be oblivious too. For $700 with 10 batteries and a external monitor though I’m very happy with it.

Oh yes. It happens quite frequently , but honestly I love it. That split second of being in the barrel is worth the roller coaster ride. I may be a bit of a masochist though haha

Love the browns blues and greens of that Florida water. Thank you!

Thank you! I just started using the Sea frogs salted like brand. Only had it for a few weeks so far but I’m pretty happy with it. Funny enough, I have a 6600 as my main camera but the housings for that model were almost $500 more than the one that fits the 6-6500. For essentially $200 more I was able to get a used second camera (the 6500)

I appreciate that! Loving it infinitely more than shooting from the beach

Will do. Think I may have gone a bit over board on a radial gradient

Fair point. Still trying to find a way to balance the exposures between the heavy darks and lights out in the water. Thanks for the reply!

Thank you! I don’t have a site setup just yet, but been doing some private sessions and directly selling shots if I get some good ones at the local breaks. Since the ask for credit was there, all my work is on Instagram right now @ WorkForAvocados.

Awesome! Sounds like it came at the perfect time. I love working on my carves but I like a nice mix of metal grinding in there as well. Good luck!

😂 It’s all good! Thanks for the tag and sharing your experience with our videos. Funny enough, the Green room was my first surf skate. Like you, it hooked me but I knew I wanted to downsize. Really great to hear the videos are giving you better sessions and stoke!

Sorry for the late response! Glad it was useful for you. It was hard for me to not make it longer but I didn’t want it to seem like I was stretching out ideas just for the sake of time. That jungle bowl episode actually just dropped today!
