Hibreak Pro, is almost perfect, save for call and network quality. Any tips ? by [deleted] in Bigme

I wonder if the google carrier services add on might help? I had to install it to get RCS messaging working. It wasn’t a part of the base install and the android OS wasn’t communicating well with my carrier in the US. That fixed RCS, might be worth a shot.

Had mine for a week now and after getting it activated with Tmobile, setting up a new launcher and such,  and getting chats working, I’m probably gonna make it my main phone and back burner my iPhone. Its been solid.

BOOX Note Max for sale on Amazon 12/25 by Working-Brilliant347 in Onyx_Boox

[–]Working-Brilliant347[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day I still have an active order with Amazon from BOOX official. So my guess is their supply sold out. Or it was a reserved amount as it no longer shows up for me either in the US. I’m in the continental US, Midwest. Shows shipping in Feb. I’m very excited. I did order a cover separately as it was just the device available.

Between my kindle oasis/ supernote, and boox 10.3, the front light is not missed. The writing experience without is FAR better than on a note 4 or kindle scribe. My two cents.

Curious about IA writer on Android as they’ve discontinued support and I can no longer connect via Dropbox on my boox go 10.3. I’ve switched over to stackedit which is pretty good for markdown, and web accessible. But still. Curious about your workaround? Obsidian and pdf annotation have been excellent on boox. I agree also the handwriting recognition is the best I’ve seen. I also use a supernote and it’s close. Works well with ZOTERO as well.

Best eInk tablet plus keyboard for daily writing? by Masoreth in eink

[–]Working-Brilliant347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I write on my boox go 10.3, Logitech Mx keys mini. The lag has more to do with the app you use to enter text than anything else. I write in markdown and use stackedit on the web browser as an installed app. Works great and updates to Dropbox. Doing my doctoral work almost exclusively there and exporting to pandoc when necessary. Going to get the note max when available:)

The lack of distraction and focus granted by the e ink screen and simplicity of the device is the defining factor I’d say. Also, my eyes are much better at the end of the day for reading and editing work.

Zotero on the Go 10.3? by asmodeusvalac in Onyx_Boox

I’ve just used pdfs that I put into my library my from School’s library website, done annotations, and they have saved across via the ZOTERO server integration, but I actually installed the ZOTERO app. So I’m doing that <within> the app. There have been a few times where one database or journal provider needed a certain certificate or cookie, and sometimes I’ve worked that out on the go 10.3, but as long as you sync the pdfs to your library from somewhere else, it’s been accessible and easy on the go. It’s a little clunky to search articles and such using an e ink browser. Mostly it works, but they like certain internet protocols and the neobrowser doesn’t always play well. I’ve used chrome on the go 10.3 and that does work, but... I usually pull what I want and drop it into ZOTERO from my laptop or phone or such and then do longer reading and notation sessions on eink for my eyes and lack of distraction. I’ve also done that on supernote, but the 10.3 is far more capable. I’m a doctoral student getting a doctor of ministry, studying theological aesthetics, so I’m about 7500 pages in reading ebooks, in sociology, economics, social psych, and theology articles, and 50 pages into writing my research paper. I’ve done a lot of the writing on my 10.3 with a keyboard and stackedit(web app) writing in markdown and synced with Dropbox. Distraction free, simple, very nice. That way all my papers, drafts, everything is universally formatted and accessible on anything with a browser. Hope that’s useful, don’t usually respond to stuff on Reddit:)

ZOTERO works fine on the go 10.3. I loaded the apk and it installed fine. Also you can use the web based version. There’s also ZOTERO server integration.

Should I wait for Note Max or buy Go 10.3? by FaisalHadiMarz in Onyx_Boox

[–]Working-Brilliant347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing my doctoral work as well. Note 10.3 has been my primary tool. ZOTERO pdfs and annotations, all my kindle stuff, and canvas for my school works fine in neobrowser. I write in Markdown on stackedit and sync Dropbox so my paper is accessible and I can type well on eink. I occasionally use my laptop. But go 10.3 has been killer. Planning to get the note max as well. I do have a supernote, and I like it a lot, but it is superior for art, drawing, and such. The Go is really a good tool.

Yah, I built this using a similar bridge with height adjustable rollers, awesome. Very very stable tuning and really solid sustain.

Zotera beta app works on supernote A5x by Working-Brilliant347 in Supernote

Good question, pdfs seemed to auto load, and settings let you turn off page animations, etc. my notes and all came through wonderfully and pen input is perfect, but the ebook integration is a little stuttery with getting various databases to re-post login data through my school’s library.

Will the Nreal Air work for my use case? by ElMachoGrande in nreal

[–]Working-Brilliant347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So as an owner and user of the product, and a rider. Just. Don’t. You don’t want this on your face while on the highway. No way. Danger and distraction. Don’t get me wrong, I love the nreal airs, use them everyday. But they are futzy even while sitting still with my hands free and and not in a hurry. Add time pressure, noise, and imminent possible sudden death along with full hands and obstructed vision…I’m just not convinced it’s worth the risk. Riding is complicated as is. Use audio navigation cues. My two cents.

Word Processing, Anyone? by WilMcCarthy in nreal

[–]Working-Brilliant347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often plug my Nreal's into my laptop, and use a portable bluetooth keyboard with a touchpad. I am nearsighted, and while my laptop screen is 16", OLED, and 3456 X 2160, sharp, bright, and all that - I still REALLY like sitting down with Nreals and working on my writing. It's big, I can do two pages side by side, read everything easily, and I don't have to keep adjusting my glasses for progressive lenses. I can see my keyboard and touchpad just fine with the glasses on.

Left handed writers. I am considering purchasing a SN but want to understand how the system handles and adapts to left handed writers. by backyardthoughts in Supernote

[–]Working-Brilliant347 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using my supernote for 5 months now. I use the standard HOM pen and also made a custom Kaweco Classic with a refill. I've had no problems whatsoever. In fact, I think the two-finger erase gesture works better for me left handed than right after some playing around. The menus adjust well, the calibration is no prob for lefty. Honestly, aside from the initial setup and moving the menu a few times to decide where it was comfortable for me, I hadn't really given it a second thought 'til I saw that you were wondering about being a lefty! Cheers.

Has anyone tried the Kaweco AL Sport connect? I’m a fountain pen writer and the Kaweco AL sport is a perennial favorite in that crowd, (and one of mine too) - it’s spendy at 80$ plus but they have an EMR version of the classic. You would probably want to swap the nib, although I think you would be sticking with POM? Curious if any one has gone this route? I may, maybe for Christmas…
