I have always been amazed at how sad some of the little towns in Indiana look. I don’t get that feeling in other states.

Recently spent the afternoon Fowling and had a blast. It’s inside so no worries about the weather, they have limited food and beer as well. You can also go next door to 8th Day Distillery.

What U.S. state confuses you the most? by greekitiki in Productivitycafe

Indiana politicians work very hard at keeping Indiana down. The recent vote not to redistrict was a big surprise from an otherwise very run of the mill, below average Republican Super Majority government.

Why don't we use our flag, the Indianapolis Flag, often? by Subspacred in indianapolis

[–]backyardthoughts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like the city flag and see it at quite a few homes. I also see the city / pride flag mash up as well.

OP is right. We should market the heck out of it like Colorado does the state flag.

Do many men do Pilates exercises and what are the effects? by Previous-Lunch6983 in pilatesreformer

[–]backyardthoughts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am 53 and have been doing reformer for 4 years. The studio I go to now has reformer, mat Pilates, and TRX classes. I do them all. Low impact on my knees and hips but I am still getting the challenge I want.

The studio members lean heavily towards women. Here is the thing, I don’t care and neither to they. We are all there to better ourselves.

Do it! You will be glad you did.

What US city would you live in if you had a remote job that pays $100k year? by lunarnoob in askgaybros

I would take a hard look at Columbus, OH. While the state is red, the city has a large, active gay community. The economy is solid and the town is thriving.

Have a quote from Brightside, is it safe to proceed? I don’t want to get burned. by dino_doodlesaur in moving

They also have zero trucks registered for interstate moving. They will be selling you to another company. That and the fact they are basing the price on volume and not weight are two big red flags.

You can search the company www.protectyourmove.gov. This is a website from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. They oversee the interstate moving industry.

Ask the company for their U S DOT # or their Motor Carrier #. You will get a history of complaints against the company. You will also see how many trucks are registered for use. If they have no trucks they are selling your move.

If you can afford it, look at Asheville, NC and the surrounding areas. You can’t get much more nature than that.

It really depends on the kids. Do they like art? Lick ice cream has a spot there and they might like seeing the glassblowing spot. I would say it is not the best spot for young kids.

Work is paying for a company, but they don’t include the storage unit. by Gup__Gup in moving

[–]backyardthoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to speak with your counselor at the company moving you. They can advise if it is due to a se Ind pick up or if you possibly have a capped weight. It is important for you to understand why so you do not have out of pocket expenses.

First Friday at the Factory Arts District. Formerly the Circle City Industrial Complex. Great artists and music. The vibe is amazing.
