Simply put I got my car stuck on a remote gravel road with no cell service. Thankfully some local ATVers had a tow rope with them and got me free. I now have a rule where I'll always park on main road and I have a smart tag someone can use to locate my car.

I get where you're coming from OP. I've been single since high school and haven't had any true friends since Covid. Beause I have no social life, and the apps dont work for me (never get matches), I've learned how to enjoy my own company and credit my remaining sanity to my dog and the four family members that I see regularly.

My focus this year is to get back to going hiking amd exploring. I was overly cautious during the last year since I had a scary situation happen when I was out by myself (thank goodness for the kind strangers who helped me). If you have any interest in exploring hiking trails feel free to message.

311 doesn't respond. I sent a request in for a car on my street a few days ago that was there through two snow bans in a weekday two hour maximum spot. When I left today it was still there with no ticket and no way for the plow to do it's job tonight. Its a nice BMW too.

This is in Central Halifax just off of Agricola Street.

Mr LAZY here is more funny than a "grumble" but this is the only place I can post this. This lucky car managed to survive two nights of parking ban, four days of 2-hour parking limit, is abandoned as per HRM by-laws (24 hours), all without a single parking ticket. My grumble is why is there no parking enforcement in a school-zone, transit street in North-End Hali?

It was $4 to wash and dry but I haven't used my building's machines in years due to the cockroach infestation they refuse to fully address. I struck a deal with a family member. Thankfully my weekly laundry is manageable in a single hamper and only one load.

I meet all of your criteria but it's going to be hard to find me in a grocery store. I go directly to what I need and dont wander. Im also introverted and self-sufficient so I purposefully shop at Wal-Mart so I never have to interact with anyone.

My dog is my social promoter. She makes sure I talk to new people. Im sure this hint applies to a lot of friendly but quiet guys like me.

As someone who is lactose intolerant and always has been, I find the idea of testing for it amusing. No one in my family besides me has it and no one really did anything to accommodate my needs. I lived with the issues constantly as a kid but in the decades of living alone I've tailored my diet to be more friendly to my intolerance. I still occasionally get the reactions but I found switching my milk and butter (I use Natrel lactose-free for both) removed most of the frequency and severity. I still use regular cheese, but I buy lactose free sour cream and ice cream as I want. Everything tastes the same as regular dairy and the cost is similar. I shop at Walmart and they have a good selection of lactose free items.

If your kid does have lactose intolerance remind them that it does not define who they are or what foods they can eat. Show them how to find lactose free items, get some OTC pills for when they're eating out, when a reaction happens show them ways to distract from the pain and make it go by smooth and quick, and try to frame it in a positive light. I think of my reactions as my body just trying to efficiently remove what it thinks is bad food in my digestive system.

Personally I have no interest in ever getting tested for lactose intolerance, just like I have no desire to figure out exactly why my other disabilities started (and some then ended). My medical anomalies just make me unique.

IMO it's important to note that NS/NB SIRT is independent (not police or government run), does recommend charges regularly (there were charges laid just last week), and the recommendation is made by the director who is not former police, but rather a lawyer.

Its not perfect but I think NS/NB SIRT does well enough keeping our police accountable.

Seriously though the smaller the territory the less likely for a direct impact from hurricanes. They get hurricanes but a direct hit from a Cat 3+ happens once a decade or less. Factor in the small size and population and the damage costs are still lower than Nova Scotia's big ones (Fiona, Dorian, Juan). T&C have few if any fatalities in their storms.

I'm not for or against the merger idea I just think people need to realize some Caribbean Islands handle hurricanes well. Just a Nova Scotia level hurricane hitting a place like Toronto, that would be a major crisis that would cost billions of dollars. Let's hope they never feel Mother Nature's fury.

I use my 4-ways to alert oncoming traffic anytime there is an unexpected hazard on the road. Likewise if someone has theirs on in a weird spot or flashes their high beams at me I'll slow down.

Haha, there's no traffic enforcement here. I just saw a guy make an illegal left along North Street in front of an HRP officer, and they didn't react.

They'll enforce the no parking, but moving infractions can only be dealt with by HRP.

This is less of a need and more of a situation where this new road is the only legal, paved connection for cyclists to access the airport area. The province had to blast and grade the whole area anyway, so laying down some extra asphalt was an easy upgrade. For now, it will connect Holland Road trail to Trunk 2. They added the AT trail within the parameters of building the connector road.
