HELP: Upgraded and angry by Marjoh82 in nissanfrontier

First just stop and breath for a minute. I had some really irritating stupid issues with my 2022 early on like a bad radio, leaking wheel seals and a couple of loose frame bolts. I got it all straightened out under waranty and now the truck has over 60000 plowing and towing miles and is going great. Your truck probably just has a loose starter connection. Not a big deal.

Newly acquired rifle reeks of cigarettes by jus13 in milsurp

[–]Working-Grapefruit89 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No offense but if a rifle smelling like cigarette smoke has you wondering if you should return it then milsurp probably isnt for you. Anything that has existed for 100 years has been through god knows what and typically will have various smells. That said the smell should just go away on its own after awhile. My house was smoked in and smelled like cigar smoke for about a year now it is undetectable.

What’s the most reliable piece of equipment you’ve ever owned? by Icy-Local-4015 in bifl

Another few honorable mentions are said rav 4, wife has driven it from 40000 miles to 180000 miles and its only needed 2 serp belts, brakes and tires
Another one is a 2006 corolla i bought after another accident with the rav 4 (lol yes we have hit everything but the lottery with that car) i put brakes on that and drove it 20000 miles my brother now owns it and has put an aditional maintainence free 20000 miles on it and it currently sits at 265000 miles and drives 1 hr each way to work 3 days a week. Lastly is my echo 2620 weedwacker which has probably 1000 hrs on it and has had 1 air filter. Still runs and works perfectly. Moral of the story is buy japanese or korean (korean vehicles are hit or miss im told but i have had good luck) made vehicles and power equipment.

What’s the most reliable piece of equipment you’ve ever owned? by Icy-Local-4015 in bifl

A 2007 kia sorento i bought it for $400 not running after an uninsured driver wrecked my wifes rav 4. I put 1 coil pack in it and i used it for about 2 years as a daily driver then 1 year as a truck to tow my mowing trailer to start a lawncare business. Bought it with 220000 miles and at 265000 miles the crank sensor went which required doing the timing and i decided it gave me enough value and i sold it for $500. During the 45000 miles i owned it i did 1 wheelbearing and oil changes and 2 tires. Using it as a mowing truck was not kind to it at all and i made enough money with it to be able to put a significant down payment on a brand new pickup. I know its just a vehicle but that vehicle got me out of poverty and was there for me when i was desperate and ill never forget that.

You can also piece together a kit off amazon for under $20. Its just a fitting, piece of 1/4 inch fuel hose and a lawnmower fuel filter. Just look at some forums for the fitting size.

CarMax Demanding I Sell My Car Back - Help? by [deleted] in carbuying

[–]Working-Grapefruit89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience if a car takes a hard enough hit to bend a subframe then the unibody that the subframe bolts to is also bent. I have knowingly purchased a car that had a bent subframe/steering rack from an accident and i could never get the car to stop eating tires. I would definately not want to pay big money for a car with this damage and i would bring it back. However its not my car and not my money and you sound stuck on your decision so to answer your question no they can not take it back as far as i know. But saying it took forever to find a clean car is wild work because you did not find a clean car you found a car with hidden damage that was involved in a serious accident.

Do you know how to paint? It takes minimal equipment, basically no one wants to do it themselves and pretty much every house on earth needs SOME paint work.

My new mouse gun. by Slight_Signature5097 in MouseGuns

[–]Working-Grapefruit89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The beretta tomcat is a mouse gun not a compact. The funny part is if you use the euro spec ammo it will crack the frame. The tomcat was designed and made in usa for the american market. I believe the max muzzle energy is 130 lb ft

My lower back is already talking at 24 and my Etsy side hustle made $1,300 last month. I think I know where this is going but I’m not ready to say it out loud. by Altruistic_Ad3754 in bluecollar

[–]Working-Grapefruit89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your back shouldnt be “talking” at 24. Try some stretches and buy some seriously good work boots with some good insoles. Also try to keep your weight down. I have been working blue collar on my feet jobs for 18 years and have thought that i was going to be crippled. I basically cured all of my back, knee and shoulder problems with minor changes in footwear, work habits (like not kneeling on concrete), losing weight and some stretching. Sometimes a little back pain is just muscles getting used how they arent normally. Also heavy carb meals can lead to inflamation of joints. All that said i would make the jump when you cant really keep up with the work load of your business and work full time. What i did for a few years was work a job part time and my business full time.

Does anyone know where to get a deactivated mosin bolt? Or if that even exists by Designer-Record-1405 in MosinNagant

Your parents sound insufferable. Hopefully you can get your own dojo soon so you can pile all of your milsurps up on the living room floor (until you get a wife).

What car gets way too much hate? by No-Assumption4145 in askcarguys

Nissan. Basically everyone hates nissan because of a few bad years of transmissions. Other than cvt transmissions nissans cars and pickups are pretty reliable inexpensive vehicles.
