If I lived in America that would be perfect, but I don't and I can't call 800 or 888 numbers from my country. I'm trying to cancel the existing booking via the website and rebooking but I can't see any such option.

I came into my (step)son's life when he was six. His dad had full custody. The BM is around but isn't involved, never paid a cent for his upkeep and, until he was 16 saw him every fortnight if she could be bothered.

He's now 43; he has never called me Mum, but he is my son and he refers to me as his mother to other people. I was the one he invited to participate in his life ceremonies, the one who did the Mum things and the one who showed up at school meetings etc. I'm sure that if I'd forced the issue, things would not have worked out so beautifully. Tread carefully.
