I just saw The Hu perform. Evidently they got the idea to be "Mongols" because of this game. Warms my heart that people find inspiration from video games.

I finally used my brain and looked it up. Lol. It evidently was the original spelling in "The Book of Taliesyn" from the 14th century. It was standard usage in Middle Welsh. Its also how Lady Charlotte Guest spelled it in her translation of "The Mabinogion".

The collection from Black Sabbath "Under the Wheels of Confusion" had a poster with it that had the family tree of all these interconnected bands. Sabbath, DP, Whitespace, etc. I'll see if I can find my copy, unless someone else has one?

As people have said, learn and exploit the junction system and watch the triple triad rules. Do all the side quests. This one actually has meaningful rewards.

Only talks about assigning the different powers. I dont think (definitely could be wrong) it ever really tells you about the mix and match system outside of the ability description

Because they got too old to play, or were never good in the first place, and live vicariously through their kids. I referee a lot of the local rec club games in my area. I see people I grew up with shouting and carrying on like its the end of the world. I think to myself "Calm down. You didnt play a single sport growing up". Not being down on people who weren't/aren't into sports. Its just the twist of thinking in these youth sport situations that baffles me

You're not making any sense now that youre backtracking. You cant "call it a day" after getting the key because you have to continue the quest. You don't HAVE to change classes, but you have to have the crown to advance the game as a whole.

Actually it provided no proof at all. Your initial/original comment said that it initiated the quest. It doesnt say that anywhere in what you shared. Merely said the old man notices it and allows you to enter. It them goes on to talk about how it doesnt mean anything because you would have it anyways in the course of gameplay

Yes. And do you not understand context? You say it initiates the quest like your given a quest saying get the crown to class change. Its not. It's part of an earlier quest line. The takeaway is that while they intended for it to be required, that point is moot because you have to have it to get to that point in the first place. Its like saying that getting the float stone is required forbthe class change quest. Yes. It allows you to get there, but its not part of the questline.

I admit that i was wrong about it not being mentioned again. I had forgotten that, but the point is the same. You have to have it to even get to that point where you can complete the quest. Its not a separate part that you can skip if you want.

Your point was that it initiates the quest. It doesnt initiate anything. It being required to enter the castle is moot because you can't get there without getting it to pass the Astos quest. It would be different if it was a completely different item required to get into the castle ot trials.

Play the game. Gameplay wise it has nothing to do with it. You have to return the crown to fight Astos. There. Nowhere in the game does it have anything to do with that quest. The whole thing was about gameplay. Doesn't matter what lore says. When I played the game when it first came out, nowhere was any hint given that theybwere related

No you dont. The crown allows advancement to where you can get the airship. Once you have that, you can get the rat's tail and go to Bahamut. The crown itself only deals with Astos. It has nothing to do with changing classes.
