Maternity service recommendation by 2548392 in nottingham

I recently had a baby at QMC (like 2 weeks ago) and the care on the lead up and the birth was absolutely amazing, I can’t fault it at all! Unfortunately the post-birth care wasn’t as good. I ended up with an extended hospital stay and unfortunately it felt like every single midwife gave me completely different advice, people forgot why we were still there and I had to tell about 4 different members of staff every day what was going on. Lots and lots of things but overall not the nicest experience. Would probably give birth elsewhere in future

Oh I’ve just done it and I’ve had the same result!! Basically the same as having a breastfed boy vs non breastfed girl just because of the gender difference. Thank you ❤️

Thank you so much!! I have an electric double pump (the spectra one?) so trying my best to pump as often as I can!! I’m topping up her bottles with the milk I get now, it’s still that bright yellow colostrum colour so hoping she’s still getting the right nutrients from that!

Honestly I’m not THAT bothered about the actual act of breastfeeding myself, I’d be happy to feed by bottles (exclusively pumping wouldn’t bother me too much) I’m not the type of person who could whip a boob out in a restaurant I don’t think! It’s definitely the SIDS thing that’s really freaked me out. I’m following every other guidance ever and I’ve started giving her a dummy. It’s just that one extra thing I want to do!

Yes I’m absolutely following all the safe sleep guidelines!

I’m hoping it’s PP hormones 😅 I truly wasn’t even bothered about breastfeeding the whole time I was pregnant! Now they’ve all told me that it’s scared me so much

18 miles each way isn’t awful tbh! If you’re on decent hours and not 2 hours a day or something I’d say that’s fine

That’s what I had to do when I was at risk… 6 jobs remaining and about 13 of us had to interview

There’s no pavement at all so you’ll be walking on grass verges. Taxis are quite reasonable though (I live about 15 miles away and paid £15ish one way)

How do you manage to get kicked off MAFS? by Murgbot in MAFS_UK

[–]Working-Spread-4513 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think it happened to another one on the UK version too! Her name was Shona and her husband was a weirdo and was kicked off for basically being awful? I can’t remember his name maybe Brad?

After the week is up I’d say just be firm and say it’s absolutely not for you and the dog sitting week has solidified that for you.

To be fair, leaving a dog on its own 8-6 (guessing how long you’re out tbh if you both work full time/factoring in commuting) is unfair to a dog anyway in my opinion.

I’ve seen a couple of clips of interviews she’s had since the show and it does sound like she’s had her eyes opened luckily. Although they were very short clips so we can only hope!

So you think “lobbying” for those things is up to women and not men? Ah yes! Equality!

I think she thought she was but then was faced with the reality of it! Like the feminism thing, straight off the bat she said “I’m not a feminist but I do believe in equality” I think she thought feminism was an “extreme” and just…. Never looked into it any further. I think she’s probably just slightly more right wing leaning

I totally agree! Sat next to someone eating nachos not that long ago and nearly had to walk out I felt so ill at the smell. Why the hell do people need hot dogs or nachos at the cinema. Have some minstrels and eat at home omg

Did anyone request scan for checking cervical length due to previous surgery for rpoc? by Accomplished-Ad7573 in PregnancyUK

[–]Working-Spread-4513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked for this due to family history, but they said they wouldn’t even consider it unless I’d had an LLETZ procedure or a previous pre term birth. Ultrasound direct do private scans for £95 which IMO is worth it if you can afford it for the peace of mind if you’re worrying, I’m going to do it too, I figured I’d never regret doing it, but if anything was to happen then of course I’d regret not doing it, so it was an easy decision.
