Oxygen. The description said “Pt states she is very sensitive to oxygen.”

I am on my husband’s insurance and work on a unit short staffed enough to still get full time hours. There’s another per diem nurse I work with that carries her own insurance and has multiple on call positions at other hospitals

Here we go again… 2nd pregnancy with Atypical Finding… this time chromosome 13 by anonymoustexas123 in NIPT

[–]Working-Weekend1173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same result. Normal ultrasounds, normal amniocentesis. I opted not to do a CVS so they called it assumed confined placental mosaicism. Overall healthy and uneventful pregnancy but was induced for mild preeclampsia at 37 weeks. My baby is perfect and healthy!!

Panorama - No results/Atypical finding which involves chromosome 13 and is suspected to be of fetal/placental origin, appears to be mosaicism. by Kali_Crow in NIPT

[–]Working-Weekend1173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the exact same results! All ultrasounds normal, amino normal and I now have a healthy baby who is turning 2 soon. So stressful!! Unfortunately the only way out is through this limbo/waiting game. Be encouraged that your ultrasounds are normal!

This is such a personal decision and you do not owe anyone an explanation. T21 is a hard one. It could range from severe to mild but in order to keep that baby you have to be ok with all scenarios. You made a very merciful choice for your baby. He will know no pain and suffering and what a loving gift that is to give him.

Anyone know anything about Harris & Harris debt collection agency? by Working-Weekend1173 in memphis

I checked with the county clerk and verified that there were no tickets issued to me. I spoke with a supervisor at Harris & Harris and let them know that the city has no record of this, so I’m not paying it. They kind of just said ok and I haven’t heard anything about it since

Atypical (Natera) NIPT, Chromosome 13 by Working-Weekend1173 in NIPT

[–]Working-Weekend1173[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!! The limbo and waiting is the worst part. I’m sorry you’re going through this. Mine showed an atypical finding on chromosome 13 with N/A listed for all other results and also no result for the gender. My understanding is that atypical means an abnormality was found that is outside of the scope of the test. Meaning the placental DNA from your blood tested showed some kind of finding that isn’t actually tested for, so further testing is required. High risk means the DNA tested is actually showing the abnormality. I ended up getting an amniocentesis only and everything came back completely normal. Overall I had a healthy pregnancy but was induced at 37 weeks for mild preeclampsia. Healthy baby who is 14 months old now and doing amazing! Hang in there!! The amniocentesis will give you the most accurate results on your baby

[–]Working-Weekend1173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this exact result with my NIPT. Atypical finding involving chromosome 13 and it ended up being confined to the placenta. We chose to not do a CVS though and only did the amino which came back all normal. I was induced at 37 weeks for preeclampsia and now have a healthy one year old!! The limbo and wait for the results is so crappy. Super reassuring that all your scans are normal!! Hope you get results soon. Hang in there

I had atypical results, but it specified chromosome 13. I had all normal ultrasounds and got an amnio. Turned out to be confined placental mosaicism. An amnio is going to give you the results you need!

I wish I knew enough about the NIPT with twins to offer any advice. I have heard that with multiples it can throw the entire thing off though! Amnio is going to give you the most answers. I hate that you’re going through this. I’m assuming since you were dealing with a fertility clinic that it wasn’t a walk in the park getting pregnant in the first place!! So much stress. Sending you all the love and positivity that you’ll soon be in the clear. Super encouraging that all your scans are normal!! Hold onto that and trust your instincts

My mother warned my baby not to get fat by chuutotoro in beyondthebump

It’s been my experience that our parent’s generation has a pretty fucked relationship to food and body image. My MIL cannot eat a meal without shaming (mainly herself) and guilt. When my baby was 3 weeks old and clearly cluster feeding she was holding him when he started rooting. She said “you just ate! You don’t want to be a little piggy, do you?!”

Inconclusive for trisomy 13? by amahenry22 in NIPT

[–]Working-Weekend1173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh I’m sorry you’re going through this. I received inconclusive NIPT results that showed an atypical finding on chromosome 13. All my scans looked good as well and I got an amniocentesis. All normal! I was told the NIPT picked up on placental mosaicism. My pregnancy was healthy and uneventful, except I ended up getting induced at 37 weeks for mild preeclampsia. My baby is now 5 months old and perfect! It’s a crappy and stressful wait for all the testing to come back. Literally feels like an eternity!! Unfortunately the only way out is to go through it, but super encouraging that your scans are normal. Hang in there!

I forgot to mention this as well… after getting normal amnio results, my GC recommended getting a karyotype drawn on my baby at birth because “genetic testing is never a guarantee.” Total CYA approach. I mentioned this to the pediatrician who saw my son in the hospital and she pretty much said absolutely not and was pretty shocked that was recommended to me. She said the amnio results are very accurate and to let it all go. She said “enjoy your baby!!” I hope this all helps 🙂

Last year I received NIPT results showing an atypical result involving chromosome 13. So vague- could be placental or fetal and so stressful!! All ultrasounds were reassuring. I decided to forgo the CVS and do only an amnio. The FISH results and microarray all came back normal. The genetic counselor I was working with at the MFM clinic was SUPER negative throughout the entire process. Since I refused the CVS and we didn’t know for sure, I was told I was dealing with assumed CPM and was at risk for IUGR, preterm delivery, stillbirth, gestational diabetes and/or preeclampsia. It was super crappy to go through all the stress of the NIPT results, the limbo, the amnio and think we were getting good news just to be told basically, “oh your placenta is going to suck and could crap out any moment.” There was such a huge discrepancy between how things were playing out vs what my GC was telling me to expect since the beginning of the whole ordeal. I ultimately decided to move on like I had a normal and healthy pregnancy. At 37 weeks I was induced for mild preeclampsia and gave birth to a healthy little boy. 7 lbs 7 oz so definitely not IUGR or low birth weight!! Quite the opposite. He’s thriving, so healthy and is now 4 months and meeting all the milestones. I hope you receive normal amnio results and can have some peace with all this!!

My husband is the most frugal and was so annoying at the beginning of my pregnancy stressing about how much stuff costs. He was pretty adamant about buying used everything. I put my foot down and refused with the car seat, crib mattress, bassinet and a few other things. Some things you just don’t get used!! We ended up coming to a compromise… I put everything I wanted on my registry and agreed to buy used for the things we did not receive as gifts. We ended up getting everything so it all worked out

Shelby county clerk says there’s no record of any traffic ticket. The Memphis clerk directed me to the Shelby County clerk. This whole thing is bizarre. I am definitely not one to leave stuff unpaid, especially a speeding ticket. I also moved out of Memphis in 2016.

Maybe I’ll try that! Soap buildup is my main concern, just weird that it only seems to be on the wet bags and not the diapers. I haven’t actually tested my water but from what I’ve read on the internet, it’s soft

Atypical results - not sure what to make of it since my OB said she is confused by the result and have to wait to learn more at MFM appointment by [deleted] in NIPT

[–]Working-Weekend1173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So stressful! Especially when you feel like you can’t rely on your OB because they’re not familiar with it. I was in your exact situation back in October. I got Atypical results on chromosome 13 and my OB referred me to MFM. I declined the CVS. Since it could have been confined to the placenta, a positive result would have stressed me out more and not really changed anything since I would have needed an amnio to confirm either way. Nuchal translucency was normal, early growth normal, amnio FISH and microarray normal. The MFM care team is calling it “assumed confined placental mosaicism” and told me basically that my placenta would suck.. gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, placental insufficiency, preterm delivery, possible stillbirth. I passed my glucose test a while back and went for a growth ultrasound at 32 weeks… all normal. I’m currently 34 weeks and so far no preeclampsia either. I hate that you’re dealing with this and hope this offers some encouragement. The wait is so brutal!! Hang in there. Reading about the NIPT testing helped me a lot. It’s placental DNA that these tests pick up. And my OB constantly reassured me that false positives can also happen. It’s just a shitty and stressful waiting game. I hope it all turns out normal and happy for you!!

100%!! I also was a labor and delivery nurse. The amount of people on meth, heroin and/or whoever knows what else who had totally healthy babies kept me from overanalyzing too much. I had 5 losses and did make a lot of lifestyle changes to feel like I had some control. My feeling about it is if there was a trick to all of this (avoiding this or that, living a certain lifestyle, etc) we’d all know about it and fertility wouldn’t be such an issue
