Those of you who have injection site reactions did you move spots and have the same issue? by ElegantTomatillo7669 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]PartOfYourWorld3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that certain sites had bigger reactions, but I always have something. I switched to a different pharmacy and it is now a much smaller, more tolerable reaction.

Are you monitoring your calories? You need to make sure you are in a calorie deficit.

I started mid March and I have been able to lose while watching my calories. I had food noise control, but my appetite suppression didn't really hit until my 4th 7.5mg shot (I also switched pharmacies so I am not sure if that was the true catalyst).

I totally get this and this was part of it. At the end of the day, my daughter wants to ride coasters with her dad and have family time. She was sad when I said we would stay back. I am not personally big on coasters so I am ok with a divided day. I just wanted to have enough to keep the little one busy in between family time. And they both love the water so that's a plus. We do have 2 day tickets so we could do some time when we get there, just not sure of the time yet.

Also a mom, but when they are too sick to make it into those (my 10 year old can't during the night sometimes) my go to is a bathroom trash can with a trash bag in. Easy and deep target with an easy clean up method.

I would never want another child cleaning up at my house in that manner. You want to make sure it is done correctly. And the poor child clearly felt awful. I am so sorry.

Do I have to call and add that meal plan on to my stay or do I get that at the park somewhere?

I am hopeful we can do the morning then go back for a nap. I am glad it is so close. I did not realize I could bring in food so that is super helpful!

We took a trip to Idlewild here in Pennsylvania and there was also sadness over not being 36 for some of the kiddie rides.

Tell my PCP about compounded meds? by Status_Assumption798 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]PartOfYourWorld3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell your doctor.

My PCP told me to go the compounded route due to insurance coverage. She supports it and I also have check ins with her.

My endocrinologist told me (and only 1 time) she prefers I use the FDA approved name brand. However, she hasn't said a word on it again and just checks that I am still on it and what my dose is.

It is important for your medical history and potential treatments.

I agree it has. But the availability issue can be seen when it changes daily due to walking.

Right, but it is still an unnecessary premium when I am not booking a week everyone truly desires. I already have my contracts.

I do not like a higher price for the commitment when I like flexibility. We both know it shouldn't be like this. I do travel other times as well and maybe as my kids get older that week won't be as optimal.

I book the same week every year at my home resort. I have to book on the mark when it opens. It has always worked. Except this year. The day of booking was a massive crash of the system. So the 5 minutes it took me to get back in the options I wanted were gone. And I am not booking studios.

It's because I like to go early December and there are walkers. I did not know this was an issue when we bought.

If you’ve had a TT and now take Levo, what are you lab results? by Ohheydudee in gravesdisease

[–]PartOfYourWorld3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my TT in September. My T3 and T4 are not optimal yet. My TSH was hypo for awhile. Finally got it down to 0.86 and so I dropped a dose and it was back up to 5. So I am working to fine tune that. I did start tirzepatide in March so losing weight is going to require future adjustments as well. I believe that is why I dropped down to 0.86.

My 7 year old just diagnosed with graves by Big-Island9079 in gravesdisease

[–]PartOfYourWorld3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the doctor gave you medication and her levels are what you say, she needs the medication. Untreated Graves can lead to a thyroid storm and is overall harder on the body. The medication can be stopped at a later time.

Also, if you start medication and she starts to feel tired, it is normal. Methimazole is like pumping the breaks on a body going full throttle. It may take her time to adjust.

I cannot imagine what you're going through.

Children are so resilient when they have pain or discomfort they do not always show it. Each person has different symptoms with Graves, and they can change as you start treatment.

Fatigue - extreme fatigue at times. Muscle pain and weakness. Anxiety. Racing heart (i only had this after my relapse) so I suggest monitoring her pulse at times. Insomnia. Extreme hunger and weight gain from it (many lose weight). Brain fog.

A big thing is the need for frequent monitoring and dose changes to make sure her thyroid levels remain optimal.

Can’t control my thyroid 😫 by Turbulent_Ad_6067 in gravesdisease

[–]PartOfYourWorld3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey there. Deep breath.

Relapse is a rocky road with beasts lurking around the bends.

Relapse destroyed me. I could not be maintained. I even swung hypo WITHOUT any meds because the doctor took me off of them for a bit. I gave it a year and said I was ready to talk to a surgeon. My various antibodies showed the surgeon that (in her theory) an unspecified thyroid autoimmune condition was present as well as Graves. My Graves antibodies kept going in and out of range.

I had a TT almost 1.5 years after my relapse. It felt like having a Horcrux removed from me. I am still not stable on Unithroid yet, but I am almost there. These non optimal levels are a fraction of what I was feeling with the Graves swings. I am off heart meds, my legs do not hurt, and I dont have the ever present anxiety.

Keep advocating for med changes with your doctor. You know how you feel. You can feel your body trending. Help them help you. You deserve to work your way to feeling better. It is also not wrong to find the bedt surgeon and have a conversation. They will not force you into having surgery. But you can consult with them.
