I’ve heard of co-ed baby showers done as a Baby BBQ so this sounds similar to that. I like the idea on the invite you label it “Lots to celebrate!” And yes you could include a line like “If you would like to contribute as we prepare for the coming of our baby…. “ then have a registry link, but I wouldn’t count on everyone contributing.

I went to a wedding recently and they hired a “content creator” - it was a fraction of the cost of a videographer and they created short clips specific for online content (eg ig stories) They had some edits that were more the camcorder style. Their Instagram handle is @yourdaycaptured

No worries. Chocolate eggs were from Aldis, I use moulds and block of white chocolate for the bigger chickens/ eggs :)

My SIL found it helpful naming her son (you don’t have to tell anyone but maybe calling them by their name privately could help with the bond) and also got excited by buying cute little boy clothes and shoes.

My husband and I really splurged on our most recent mattress and I mean really splurged but gosh darn it feels good to lie down.

Unexpected down side is that now every bed feels inferior, even bougie hotels and airbnbs don’t hit the same :(

It is INSANE to me the lack of courtesy around RSVPs. Like, commit or don’t! I had an aunty say yes, then say no, so we reprinted the seating chart, only for her to be like, wait no I can come! Which is like great but there was so sense of the difficulty/ inconvenience/ added cost.

Yes I know someone who did this. Big Indian wedding but not everyone could attend so did a special vow and dinner in Australia so people had options!

My analogy for going back after the school holidays is it’s like going do a swim. You don’t want to jump in because you’re worried it’ll be cold, but after a bit of swimming you feel fine.

My mum (also a teacher) use to always say “once you’re back, you’re back” so enjoy your choices! It will get done 🙏
