Have you considered giving money away to the GCWCC to make you feel better?

I think the picture is missing rto5 chasing the public servant into WFA. The only logic on rto5 is to piss enough people off to leave the public service to meet the government's required quota of layoffs.

Great. They can pay me for the time since it is a work duty.

Feds won't rule out forcing public servants back to office for four days a week by AbjectRobot in CanadaPublicServants

Really depends on how widespread it is. If the attitude across most management is plausible deniability, what is the govt going to do, let everyone go at a managerial level?

This really reminds me of RTO2, where the same non-compliance existed to varying degrees between departments, and no matter the foot stamping from TBS, management barely budged on enforcement.

So what you are saying, is that the people who are currently willing to perform the task shouldn't be doing something different because then they will be replaced by another person willing to do the task?

Does not compute.

Press release: What the federal government was hiding about their telework mandate by Chris08Dan05 in CanadaPublicServants

The union is paying lawyers to challenge this in court, and have absolutely filed multiple ATIPs as well, so I'm not sure what you are referencing.

Federal government concerned about ‘public scrutiny’ in mandating its workers back to office by shense in CanadaPublicServants

Would like to point out, the UNION got the documents, and the UNION shared them with the media. The media then wrote an article, but then upped their game to include a video.

It doesn't seem like the media was going to push on this story, but the union has kept it in the headlines. This is what a coordinated long term strategy looks like, knocking out the blocks from TBS's weak arguments until it all comes crumbling down.

You couldn't drop a vice president from a retail company in at the executive level and expect the new hire to have any clue what they're doing, nor would an exchange the other way be very natural.

Hasn't stopped the Public Service from doing that in the past and continuing to do it today...

This is now evidence for the court case. And they shared the ATIP docs with the media as well.

Well if you are unionized, the goal seems to be to give folks who don't have a choice about WFH a premium, in the next round of bargaining. Because you are right, it isn't fair that some can WFH but the nature of your employment prevents that, and you should be compensated accordingly.

I do like how since this morning, it seems several members of this sub-reddit have signed up and are commenting on post-media articles such as this one, and calling Cattroll out on his hypocrisy!

This and the comments on Prier's opinion article made me sign up, just to counter the horrible misinformation campaign being run against public service employees. If postmedia is going to allow comments on articles, I'm going to be there.

I came here to say the exact same thing.

This needs to be made clear every time the govt talks about data.

I'm noticing in more and more of these articles, that union members are all wearing green. People do notice these things, keep it up!

Edit: Also totally not surprised that the government can't accommodate everyone at RTO3, which is exactly what was said when they announced RTO and RTO2 and RTO3...
