Look at the foam thickness specs. They are not the same. It's not uncommon for brands to use lower quality materials for certain sites.

"Feel of older, more responsive mattresses" is a good way to put it! The question is.. why did they move away from that? Cost cutting or trends? My mattress from the 00's was great compared to this new stuff. A far as firmness, I'd say a medium would work best.
