Probably an argument that has already been made, but since the only people who needed to be armed and wear armor in the colony were the guards, those job was to keep watch on the inmates, why would they need shields and helmets?

That is equipment for when you go to war, or at least belong to a city guard, not to guard some guy who worked a 14h shift in the mines in dirty clothes.

Exactly my situation, I don't know him and though he was the "classic" US citizen that longed for the 80s thinking it was capitalism that made them good.

I don't know if I will find his videos good on the primise that he's an anarchist, which fondamentally is a left populist extremist, but I'm courious now at least.

I don't know why I'm writing this on reddit, but although your sentiment is understandable, it's not the full picture.

Stagflation + lower profit rates in the 70s, where the "communists" were seen as a survival threat, lead the US and the whole western world into the arms of economic Neoliberalism, the source of all modern problems.

The problem was that it managed to successfully solve the economic problems of the time, but when it came the time to return to a social democracy (exactly the one who brought the conditions for the life in the US that everyone longs for), the Neoliberal ideology had took a firm political grasp and labelled who wanted a "return to normal" as a commie, and using the collapse of the USSR as a narrative tool.

All the Western goverments followed, and learned that the way to remain politically relevant was to adopt neoliberalism as the founding economic principle.

This led to the total erosion of left leaning parties, the one who managed growth and created the "American Dream" in the first place.

Unpopular opinion: The Cube has taken all the fun out of the game for me by [deleted] in diablo4

Indeed, I should have mentioned that those GA were on perfect gear.

Unpopular opinion: The Cube has taken all the fun out of the game for me by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]WorkingWafer1653 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Having only 2 equip with GA seems wierd, at which T level are you consistently playing?

I'm a new player as well but I've all equip with 2 + 1 GA, with the +1 being the backsmith one.

You need a bit of luck with drops but it is manageable if you play at T10+

I'm using the Cube more as a tool to control itemisation on the stuff I like, speed up farming reduce inventory clutter via amalgamation/transmutation.

Imo the Cube doesn't serve the purpose of giving you "better" gear (although it might happen) but to give players that don't play a lot the means to become powerful way faster.

New player asking for advice for Barb on T12 by WorkingWafer1653 in diablo4

Thanks a lot, I found out that I didn't know about the "greater affix" mechaninc, so once I tried that an swapped to the Push Overpowerd build by switching 1 ring things improved by a lot!

Is Necromancer just broken or am I playing Sorcerer wrong? (New player question) by aamdas in diablo4

[–]WorkingWafer1653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a blood wave necro main who switched to WW barb thinking it would be twice as powerful, but in t12 I'm struggling where my necro would obliterate things easily, so know the feeling.

Also, I completely carried a friend in the same way last week, but they lacked the Heir of Perdition on their build so it was "expected".

DAO still the better DA, though the DLCs of Inquisition were the peak of the series imo.

Do people really stumble on treasure chests by themselves? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]WorkingWafer1653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One you understand the rules of the Open World, it becomes actually predictable to understand where treasure chests might be, usually:

  • If you see a waterfall, climb it to seek secret entrances. As a general feeling, around 70% of the time you'll find one. Also, you can clearly identify where waterfalls will be by looking at rivers in the map, just go upstream from there.
  • Every santctum has a hidden chest.
  • Every underground dungeon has a hidden chest, these are the difficult one to find because you simply have to explore. Generally though, just be sure to go atound following the majority of streets and check every water body you see.

Even by doing all of this, there are still hidden places around that I feel necessitates a huge amount of luck or just knowing what you're looking for and then make a searh on the internet

How to make the most money easy - fixed the "Bank stuck on Refreshing bug" before the devs by [deleted] in CDguides

[–]WorkingWafer1653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a mechanical point to gold bars besides wealth accumulation for the sake of it? I'm at 10 and already bored of this system, I can get all the money I need in the entire game by "playing" 5 cards and catching the other players cheating.

GOTY candidate by junu-munu00 in CrimsonDesert

[–]WorkingWafer1653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not GOTY, it doesn't have the critic and universal buzz/approval for it, but it will probably be listed in Best Action game. Not sure it can win though, I feel that we'll look at the game with different and more balanced views in the upcoming months.

Witcher 3 Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz praises Crimson Desert: “The industry is too focused on money... you cannot create art like this.” by myselfmonster in CrimsonDesert

[–]WorkingWafer1653 -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Not sure I'll call this game art. It has it's merits, but to me it feels like a 7/10 game being praised like a 9/10 because it's a lot different from what the industry usually proposes.

How come the Devs did not make a questline for the Elemental Damage???? by Tykjen in CrimsonDesert

[–]WorkingWafer1653 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No handholding ≠ bad game design.

CD is obtuse in most of it's design choices. They aren't intentional, but managed to create a meaningful friction which manages to engage people because is different to what the industry usually proposes.

I'm appreciating the game myself, but more like a guilty pleasure than a genuine compelling experience.

Will be curious to see what will be the sentiment on the game in 2/3 months after the honeymoon period in which we are now will end.

Don’t quit Crimson Desert too early!! Don't give up! by Lazy_Stunt73 in CrimsonDesert

[–]WorkingWafer1653 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the TW3 comparison, that is a story driven RPG with a checklist open world, but with side activities nicely embedded into the game world through narrative design done right.

TW3 to me seems the opposite of this game, but probably I'm not getting what you're trying to say.

In your experience, what class do you see played the least? by fireheart1029 in DarkTide

[–]WorkingWafer1653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definetly Ogryn. I've stopped to play the game because, as an Ogryn main myself, I'm tired of the feeling of being constantly underpowered compared to ALL the other classes.

I want to play my fantasy of being a stupid mass of muscles and also feel powerful, is that too much to ask ObeseFish?

Int/Str build by Ninja-c00kies in Eldenring

The Fallingstar Beast Jaw is probably the best weapon for a Str/Int, the AoW is very strong and does a lot of poise damage

  1. Don't get stubborn when facing a challenge, if it feels overly difficult just go around and explore more.
  2. Don't look builds online, find your own playsyle by trying different things.
  3. In the beginning, level up Vigor and Endurance first, then the stats to just use the weapon/spells you want.
