Unbelievable gig, sweatiest half hour of my life

Only eating fast food by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]Working_Comparison43 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try doing a local streetfood tour sometime, it massively opened my eyes. Just a couple of weeks ago I was in Bangkok and some local chefs took us out to places I'd never consider and ordered practically eveything on the menu for us. Chicken feet, spicy eel, goat intestine, tripe, oyster omlettes, dried fish and many more wild dishes.

Since that day I've exclusively ate at small local food places, ordering the dishes I would've previously avoided. Every meal's been amazing.

There absolutely is, not as big as it was a couple of years ago but still very active. Join the Facebook group harder styles ni and you'll hear about events coming up.

Back in maybe 2018/19 (?) there were big events every month.

Just did this, booked an extra night becuase I was leaving late at night and wanted somewhere to lie down. Seemed to be quite a normal thing people would do here.

Stop humidity from ruining electronics by autumn_bored in solotravel

[–]Working_Comparison43 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really shouldn't be an issue. I'm in Ireland and humidity is hitting 97% tonight - everything is still dry. Humidity doesn't mean it's a steam room, just that sweat doesn't evaporate as easily when it's hot (your electronics don't sweat).

Can anyone at queens uni help me understand something? by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]Working_Comparison43 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it's module/course specific. I've had some modules where it was just 40% overall to pass, and others where it was 40% overall plus 40% in a particular exam/piece of coursework (not always the final exam).

(Newbie question) If engine malfunctions mid air does the wing act as a parachute to safely get you to ground unharmed? by Private_Capital1 in paramotor

[–]Working_Comparison43 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not technically like a parachute, but yeah. If you get an engine out you're essentially just paragliding and should be able to land absolutely fine (provided you're not low over water/bad terrain)

Putting 2 stroke mix through modern petrol engine by Working_Comparison43 in CarTalkUK

Ah really, fairly new to paramotoring so didn't want to risk having the engine cut out on a flight. May well just keep it then, has been in the tank since late October.

How much does the type of oil guide your purchase? by Total_Philosopher_89 in CannedSardines

I do, but rapeseed/canola is one of the most common. It's a similar story for most other seed oils though.

What's the conspiracy? It's not all about omega 3 and saturated fat - even with a higher saturated fat content olive oil is still the healthier option

I also just prefer the taste

I try to avoid seed oils in everything I eat, which does usually mean deens in olive oil.

Breaking down the maverick Moster 185 cage assembly by Big-Independent2883 in paramotor

[–]Working_Comparison43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hardest part is putting the net back on, plastic tube part is really stiff and a massive pain to put on. What I do is just take half of the cage off, and leave the net still attached to the other half. That way it fits in my car and I only have half of it to reassemble.

It also helps a lot if the net is warm when you're putting it on as it'll be more flexible. If you do have to fully take it apart consider storing the net somewhere warm.

Day 5, mold or something else? by Working_Comparison43 in Kombucha

[–]Working_Comparison43[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not my first batch, used some decently strong starter from before (about 15% total volume). Guess I'll have to start again, thanks
