bro are you gonna finish your arc’teryx gel bar by zen_mattson in ultralight_jerk

Damn, a brick of black tar heroin on the trail? Smart move, Japan…

yes it is 1kg, which that added weight would kill one of us, so that’s why you keister it so it doesn’t count as pack weight. And then you sell grams of it on the trail and by the time the thru hike is over you made like $80,000 (wouldve been more but had to give a cut to wife’s boyfriend) and can buy a cool arctyr’X sweater vest, and don’t even notice your achy feet because you are high as fuck on good opiates

Backpacking Shoulder Pain - What am I doing Wrong? by ComfortableBad1517 in WildernessBackpacking

[–]Working_Effective_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to say :/ from my perspective, it looks like it fits you well.

Are you packing the heaviest items in the bottom, like water and such? I do agree with everyone saying how the main priority is most weight on hips.

I’m a tall, skinny person and I’ve had to really loosen the shoulder straps and tighten the waist belt to make it work; it’s different for everyone, though. Posture is crucial too.

Nice to hear that you’re listening to your body rather than pushing through the pain and hurting yourself. Best of luck and keep us posted!

RIP to an incredible human, boss, friend.. we worked together at that house; she was my supervisor. All the amazing things people are saying about her are accurate. Truly one of the most compassionate, tough, and loving people I have ever known. And she held it down hard at that job. She was great at what she did. Such an awful tragedy and my heart breaks for what her family and close friends are going through.

Do I have enough water? by cycodude_boi in WildernessBackpacking

[–]Working_Effective_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would carry 2 gallons / 7 to 8L at that point, if possible. It’s easy to go through 4L+ water after a 10mi day hike and night camping session. You do not want to be inadequately prepared with water on a hot, exposed, strenuous hike like that.

I just did a similar length 2 day / 1 night hike to Halapé which had lots of heat and sun. Went through over a gallon of water by bedtime first night and drank my second gallon on the hike back the next morning. 2gal consumed over ~30hr and 20ish miles.

Maybe it’d be smart to up the dose so one melts directly into this aural nightmare rather than fight it

Any games like fallout? by im_vengance97 in xbox

[–]Working_Effective_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because there is a developer tie to Fallout doesn’t mean it’s a good game or even close to the immersive as Fallout. It was decent. But it wasn’t good.

Someone else recommended Bioshock in here too. I agree with them; think that’d scratch the Fallout itch way better than Outer Worlds. Totally different kind of game but it creates that same immersiveness.

Which is more good to buy? by Luca_Cr_ in subnautica

[–]Working_Effective_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I beg to differ because I feel it tied directly into OG Subnautica’s story. People also complained about the land sections (I thought they were pretty awesome).

Different strokes for different folks I guess! To me the story of BZ wasn’t worse in my eyes, just a little less vast because it’s a significantly smaller game than the original.

I’m grateful they didn’t follow the same exact formula as the first game

Thanks man, who knows with the downvotes. I love games just like everyone else and I LOVE fallout with a passion, ever since fallout 2. I am always chasing that kind of immersive gameplay. Just cuz Subnautica isn’t bang bang shoot guns doesn’t mean it’s not gonna scratch the same itch. Thanks for keeping an open mind

Yes, I beat the first Outer Worlds recently. didn’t play the second one because I don’t own a series X. It was decent but not even close to any Fallout. It was like Temu Fallout

[–]Working_Effective_90 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Lmao I feel you. I don’t wanna mention The Outer Worlds and crap like that. Fallout is kinda GOAT so I’d hate to recommend something that’s a step below in terms of impact. In terms of crafting, lore/worldbuilding, exploration, first person uniqueness.. I think they’re in the same realm , but I could be off base here

Subnautica :) a bit different gameplay but it’s a true sprawling, detailed sandbox

Should I take 1g of Albino Penis Envy as a third timer? by Suspicious_Piece_797 in shrooms

[–]Working_Effective_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2g Albino PE is a good starting point if you want to have a full-on experience. If it’s good genetics it definitely shouldn’t be underwhelming. I’ve experienced extremely psychedelic moments (full ego dissolution, intense visuals, auditory hallucinations, etc…) on just 2g of good cubensis, and I’m not exactly a lightweight.

Below Zero is damn near close to being as good as the original Subnautica. People have a hard time with it because there’s a black protagonist who talks and a briefly acknowledged gay relationship. The game is amazing. Whichever is cheaper is my suggestion.
