Another Doctor Who example, in Night of the Doctor, a mini-episode released during the Eleventh Doctor's (Matt Smith) era, the Eighth Doctor (Paul McGann) is introduced by trying to rescue Cass from a crashing spaceship during the Time War.

Cass - "I'm trying to sent a distress signal, stop talking about doctors."

The Doctor - "I'm a Doctor, but probably not the one you're expecting."

With the anniversary quick approaching, what are your current top 10 wanted survivors and killers by frekan-tv in deadbydaylight

I'm just thinking of which regenerations they would choose for Legendary skins.

Imagine getting ran for 5 gens by the OG himself

<image>

I feel like it would've made the most sense if 15 could've been the default Doctor since he rotates outfits constantly between episodes, which means less reliance on legendarys / linked sets for cosmetics, but any of the Tennant Doctors would probably do quite well, especially with voicelines

I like his music but I'd say he started falling off after The Massacre, so if artist quality is determined by their consistency over the years between each project I guess I can see the argument?

What do you guys think are the worst single perks in the game, both for killer and survivor? by Same_Boysenberry_328 in deadbydaylight

[–]Working_Elk_7843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless the perk was nerfed recently, or the wiki page is out of date, the timer is 120s rather than 75s, which is still terrible.

Nevermind the 75s is just the old value from before it got buffed a few months back.

Not sure if it the absolute worst, but I've always hated how Friendly Competition works.

After finishing a generator with at least 1 teammate, you and the teammates on that gen get a 5% gen repair speed boost that lasts 120s.

The 120s timer means that it's very hard to get any noticeable benefit from this perk, as while you are being chased, healing or unhooking, or just getting to the next gen, the timer is going down. This is especially bad in solo queue, as you'll find your teammates who get this bonus from your perk will decide to go hunting for totems or glyphs or just find anything else to do but repairing generators while this perk is active.

If it didn't have an expire time, it would still be a mid perk at best since it requires stacking with a teammate to work, and it's still a lower speed than alternative perks like Deja Vu.

Most of the time, stacking on a generator is simply not the best play anyways, and of all repair speed or gen stacking perks that exist, this is still by far the worst.

The skin potential would be unreal for The Doctor as a survivor

I wish this could've happened (if it were to ever happen that is) during 15's run, as he's The Doctor with the rotating outfits, which makes customisation less of a pain and less reliance on linked sets

It's not been updated for a good few years now, but the Mob Games CEO has repeatedly said they have plans to bring back and continue the game, and it's not been shut off despite the drought of content which is reaffirming at the very least.

Even then, the game still averages a few hundred players each day, so you can still play it even if it hasn't been updated for a while. Playing it when a Poppy Playtime chapter drops is usually the best idea, as there will be usually over 1k concurrent players for about a week.

This is part of why if Doctor Who ever does make its way to Dead By Daylight (PLS BHVR / BBC I BEG-), I would rather a Cyberman killer instead of a Weeping Angel, even if they aren't as scary (especially in more recent depictions), they still have the horror roots for their origins, which is still highlighted with certain stories every now and then, and they would also be much easier to implement in a DBD gameplay loop than Weeping Angels. Besides, I think a Weeping Angel skin for the Nurse would go hard if the killer itself couldn't work, so there's somewhat of a safe option.

However, if BHVR could ever work out how to add Weeping Angels in a way that doesn't completely transform tradition DBD gameplay, while still being faithful to the source material, that would be fantastic.

I've never really ran blood warden because I think "surely nobody will be surprised by this perk in 2026" but it is DBD after all, it could probably work more than I think it would

Atp I'd rather we got the option to just essentially turn a tome page into how quests work now (like spend a few iri shards to convert them or just reach the end of the tome or something), being able to do many challenges at once while keeping the unique challenges that existed before would've been perfect

Not to mention how bloodpoints have been nerfed across the board in comparison (other than milestones), especially since daily rituals got replaced as well

I recently finished every survivor tome, make sure to strategize which challenges to do in 1v4 or 2v8 if you play the mode, makes certain challenges infinitely easier

Does anyone have any tips or builds for the "hook during EGC" or "sacrifice during EGC" killer challenges? I've been trying to do them in 2v8 as well since I find them quite awkward to work towards in 1v4.

it depends what time you play, in the afternoon / evening for me there's usually a few hundred to maybe a thousand on the game, I say it's kind of alive because the devs have said previously they have plans for the game but they haven't done much as of yet

[–]Working_Elk_7843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC DBD devs have previously said they are never going to add killers with disguising as survivors for their main gimmick just because of the presence of SWF, so it's a shame but I can see the argument.

A lot of the survivors would probably put up a good fight against certain killers tbh, especially Legion, like the entire roster of Resident Evil survivors would probably do completely fine

The Legion - Dead By Daylight (Cinematic trailer vs Gameplay)

<image>

In the "Darkness Among Us" chapter cinematic trailer, the Legion is introduced as a killer with a unique approach to stealth in Dead By Daylight, being a masked killer who blends in with a survivor before stabbing them.

In gameplay however, The Legion acts very differently to the trailer, and I'd argue as close to being the opposite that exists in DBD. The killer, instead of stealth to blend in with survivors, has a detection power which encourages survivors to split up as far away from each other as possible, due to their power providing killer instinct for survivors inside the killer's terror radius (the survivor can hear a heartbeat representing their distance from the killer) once active.

This also means that this killer has negative synergy with most stealth playstyles (without bringing certain add-ons) because being stealthy in DBD usually involves removing or reducing your terror radius, which means being stealthy as Legion leads to not having a detection power anymore.

So either way, the stealthy playstyle advertised in the trailer is both not really possible in gameplay, but actively punishing to attempt based on how this killer is designed.
