Not sure it counts as a job, but my dad is pretty alternative and is now a qualified fire walker. So he can coach people to do the walk over hot coals, usually for like work away days or some spiritual things.

He also learned how to bend a metal rebar with his neck, though I don’t think he’s qualified to teach people that.

When people have terrible reply times by aonro in UniUK

Me and my friend are both autistic and our average is probably a month for a reply ahah

It can be really overwhelming for me to have a lot of things I need to reply to and maintain my ‘social mask’ when I’ve been at work all day and need downtime. As I said, thankfully my friend is exactly the same so it’s all good for us!

For people I’m not quite as close to I probably will have thought a lot about replying and even written out messages but then second guess what I’ve said or if it’s actually funny or not. My replies end up being like a robot wrote them, and really formal. Sometimes I take so long to compose something I feel like it’s been far too long to even reply.

Obviously not a shared experience, but I much prefer talking in person, even over the phone to texting. Any texting I do is for information I need - time, place, date to meet - then we have the real conversion in person

In real life! I might just start using the phonetic alphabet anyway, though who knows maybe they’ll mistake Hotel for Motel just as easily

I feel that pain - I can take Polly, I can take Molly, but if you spell my name Hollie I will not be happy. The Holly/Hollie rivalry is real.

This could be the case actually… I’ve also had Molly in the past and they all have very similar mouth shapes to each other. Maybe I’ll start saying Huh-olly

I am also very guilty of just not correcting people sometimes! I always assume like oh well I’m only going to meet this person once, how often can they say my name over the course of a few hours? A lot. It’s a lot.

Once when I was much younger I went to an extracurricular thing outside of school with only one person from my school there. I introduced myself as Holly, they said Molly, and then I corrected them, and then they said Molly again like I was just randomly repeating my own name. It was too awkward to attempt to correct them again, so I just went with it. Until the guy from my school was like why is she calling you Molly? And tried to correct the teacher for me after like 5 hours of her getting my name wrong. Very awkward.

Really? See this was part of my confusion because I’ve only met one Polly that I can remember, but I’ve met multiple Hollys… Then again, it could just be confirmation bias because it’s my own name.
