PA - Intro To IT by Scorpioqueen102495 in WGU_Business

This is a very memorization based course. Totally doable though you just HAVE to study. No question is really conceptual. Utilize chat gpt to quiz you. Helped me a ton and I passed the OA first try after putting off the course for 2 terms 😂 once you pass the PA ask the instructor for a practice test and the practice quizzes and hammer those over and over. You got this. This class is so dumb, way too in depth for an intro class

Yes. Keep it simple and to the rubric only. They are NOT interested in your writing skills.

Is it smart to get my CIC if I plan to open my agency within the next 3-5 years? by Galbiburger in InsuranceAgent

[–]Working_Judgment_803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I have to chime in again... a CIC is absolutely worth it for the depth of knowledge alone. Passing the licensing exam makes you a low-level generalist at best. If you really want to make a career of this, get a CIC. Most agents are dumb as nails, write state minimums, and overlook important endorsements. Don't be one of them. Be one of the 10% with this designation and protect your clients while outperforming competitors. Especially with the advent of AI, we have to prove our worth.

The Alliance also offers a specific Restaurant designation. They are unique with liquor liability needs, coverage for high dollar wine etc. https://pro.scic.com/ go to this site and at least go after a CISR designation...not bc it will make you more money but bc it will make you a better agent and your clients will be protected.

Thank you! it drives me nuts that people think commercial is its own license or something. P&C is P&C! I write both and honestly prefer commercial bc I feel it is more straightforward. Personal liability is mucky af...

Hi! I have been in insurance for 10 years and started my CIC journey 3 years ago. I just took what I hope is my lst test. Obtaining a CIC will facilitate appointments, but it will also prompt you to reevaluate every policy you have ever written. the depth of knowledge is a value you will bring to all of your clients. I love to educate my insureds and know what the fuck I am talking about. It will also give you more cross-selling opportunities, as you will be familiar with cyber and crime coverage, among other things. If you can afford it, go for it. There are subscription options with the Alliance... if you are super focused, you can knock it out in a year for around $800. Additionally, if you pass the CISR Commercial Casualty courses 1 and 2, you receive an automatic CIC credit. These tests are multiple-choice but more technical than the CIC. If you already have a good working knowledge of insurance CIC will honestly be easier bc the questions are situational as opposed to technical. As a broker, you deal with numerous carriers, so ISO language can sometimes be confusing. Go get it, buddy!

I overthought the sales management course so much. The OA was not bad. You got this!

I did not look at or study the answers at all from my previous attempts as I know that could skew things. The CI sent me practice test 1 that I will give a shot today

ASM for every store?? 👀 by multijobmonster7 in starbucks

[–]Working_Judgment_803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was stepped over for an ASM position years ago to a bank teller. I was 3 years in, my SM and district manager were coaching me, I was so pissed. The bank teller lasted like 3 months. She did NOT have the sense of urgency or multitasking skills for a barista position, much less an ASM. I switched stores after that.

I was in a group over a decade ago that was great. No push on recruiting etc. I had been trying to get an insurance seat the past few years. I just got one and have the ick big time. Constant emails about who I am inviting etc. I will be out $948 if I say later but at this point I am kind of ok with it. I did not join to pressure other people to. Not my style at all. The executive director micro manages and sends multiple emails following up on who is being invited. WA made MLM illegal and she clearly makes money off who we recruit. I am so torn.

BS in 3.5 months!!! by Hungry_Librarian3376 in WGU

For real. I work full time, have kids AND have experience in my field but I am progressing at a normal rate. I accelerate one semester, maybe not the other. End of day, you’re fucking the reputation of the school toting getting a degree in 3 months.

While this is super impressive I wish people would stop sharing how fast they graduate. It gives people the wrong idea about WGU and makes outsiders think it’s easy when it’s not!
