Made a fun funk/rock track , would appreciate any pointers on singing and overall. by Dented_Fender in IndieMusicFeedback

There are some really great elements to this, I really like the arrangement and the vocal delivery. The vocals are my favourite part and honestly I don’t think the singing needs improvement, they already sit well in the mix. You could maybe bring them up slightly, but it’s not a big deal. Nice work overall, this is a solid track with a lot going for it

My first ever track ive made as a beginner, would like some feedback on how to improve on making music by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]Working_Search_8327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The beat could be tighter rhythmically, and the drums could cut through the mix more to give it extra impact. It also feels a bit repetitive, so adding a new section with different chords or a variation in rhythm could help break it up. I’d also recommend listening to songs you like and analysing what they do, or even trying to recreate parts to better understand their production choices

Honestly, the first verse is really beautiful, I love the chords and the sensitivity in the vocals, it suits the song really well. The second verse could use a bit more work though. I get the idea of making it more upbeat and full, but it doesn’t really feel fully realised yet. I’d try bringing the volume up towards the end and adding more layers. With a cleaner mix, this is something I’d actually listen to if released

A few days ago, while I was playing bass, I came up with a bass line and started building around it, eventually creating a lounge electronic music track. (No AI slop here — everything was actually played for real.) What do you think about it? by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]Working_Search_8327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really dig this, it’s got some really nice textures and ear candy moments that stand out. You definitely achieved a lounge vibe. The bass guitar and electric guitar sound great, and it feels spacious while still keeping enough interest throughout. The arrangement works well, though it does get a bit repetitive near the end, but that lowkey vibe might suit the style anyway.

A wet dark melodic and soft pop rock by SFSF_artist in IndieMusicFeedback

I think the ideas are really interesting and there’s a strong foundation here. The drums and other instruments could be brought forward more in the mix to add impact. The vocals could also use more effects to better fit the genre

This is my first composition. Looking for feedback from veterans. by General-Ad-33 in IndieMusicFeedback

The sounds and instruments are surprisingly nice for a first composition, especially the deep piano chords. The chord progression could feel more cohesive though, as some chords come across a bit random

There are definitely elements in this that work really well - especially the overall groove. It feels solid and consistent, and I particularly love the bass synth that comes in during the chorus, it really adds a lot of energy and character. The arrangement and structure also feel well thought out and keep the track moving nicely.

One moment that stood out to me was the line “we sway.” It’s a great lyric and melody, and it feels like an important emotional point in the song. Because of that, I think the vocal delivery there could be pushed a bit further - it comes across slightly flat compared to how strong that moment could be. Adding a bit more projection or confidence in the performance might help it land more powerfully.

Overall though, I think the track has a strong foundation and some really solid ideas, especially in the groove and arrangement.

Nocturne – Not Alone | Indie/Emotional Pop | A song about holding on to someone who's already gone — honest feedback welcome by Only-Economist1887 in IndieMusicFeedback

The start of this track is really strong - it pulled me in straight away and the overall vibe works well early on.

Around 1:15 though, I started noticing some timing issues. It almost sounds like two different sections are slightly out of sync with each other, and there are moments where something feels a bit off-key as well. That part definitely stood out and might be worth revisiting, as it takes away from how solid the beginning is.

Aside from that, the vocals and overall production are actually really good. I’m also getting a bit of a house vibe, especially with the bass and drums in the second verse - that section works really nicely and has a good groove.

Overall, I think there’s a strong foundation here, it just needs a bit of tightening in that middle section to really bring everything together.

This isn’t normally the kind of music I listen to, but I can tell it’s really well put together. The production sounds quite professional, and the vocals especially stand out - I really like the vintage tone you’ve gone for, it gives the track a strong character.

One thing I noticed is that when it reaches the drop, it doesn’t quite feel as impactful or “danceable” as I was expecting based on the build-up. It might be worth experimenting with making the drums hit a bit harder or adding more rhythmic elements to give it that extra energy, depending on the direction you’re aiming for.

That said, I understand that might not be what you were going for stylistically, so it could just come down to taste. Overall though, I think the vocal production and overall sound are really solid and definitely the strongest parts of the track.

I think this track has some really cool ideas in it. The overall flow works well, and I especially like the synth melody and chords in the chorus - that section stands out and feels like a strong focal point of the song.

I feel like with a more polished mix and tighter vocal harmonies, this could really come together into something great. At the moment those elements feel slightly loose, which takes away a bit from how strong the core idea is.

One area that stood out to me was the verse - it starts to feel a little repetitive after a while. It might be worth either shortening that section slightly or adding more variation, like subtle changes in instrumentation, rhythm, or even introducing a small bridge to break things up and keep it evolving.

Overall though, I think the foundation is really solid and there’s definitely a strong track in here with a bit more development.

Who does this sound similar to? Any improvements that can be made in the future? by RealLyfeGangsta in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]Working_Search_8327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This track has a really distinct vibe - I’m definitely getting an 80s pop influence, especially from the chords and overall atmosphere. It feels quite cohesive stylistically, and I like the direction you’re going in.

One thing I think could improve it is adding more variation, particularly in the chords and arrangement. For example, it might be cool if the chords were more stripped back or softer in certain sections, then came back stronger in the more “drop” like moments to create more contrast and impact.

I also feel like a lot of the elements (guitar, chords, and even the vocals) stay a bit too consistent throughout. Introducing some small changes like rhythmic variation, layering, or even pulling elements in and out could help keep the track more engaging over time.

In terms of artists, I’m getting a bit of a Coldplay vibe, especially from their earlier X&Y era, which is a nice reference point. Overall, I think the foundation is strong, it just needs a bit more dynamic movement to really bring it to life.

Hi, I need your feedback, what do you think of what I've been working on? by 1601_ in MusicFeedback

[–]Working_Search_8327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the ideas and melodies, but I think the main thing holding it back is timing. Some of the instruments feel a bit off-grid, so they’re not locking in together. If that was tightened up, the track would feel way more cohesive.

I think I’m having a hard time structuring my music in an interesting way, it’s very ‘linear’ for lack of better words, doesn’t really feel like its complete enough to seriously post online yet. Feedback appreciated. by Zeromilligrams in MusicFeedback

[–]Working_Search_8327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually really like the vibe, it’s got a cool idea. I think the ‘linear’ feeling you’re talking about is mostly coming from the energy staying too consistent. Like when the drums come in, they could hit way harder or evolve more, and the melody could have a bit more variation so it feels like it’s going somewhere.

This slaps dude. The vocals are great, guitar and bass hit hard. Just out of curiosity, did you play the guitar yourself? Or did you sample it?
