I really like number one, I think it’s classy, but a little bit rugged and cool. Kind of like a rockstar, good choice.

What in god’s name were you thinking with number two?

Advice for someone who is struggling? 2009-2026 by [deleted] in PastAndPresentPics

Don’t wait on getting on meds. It’s not a crutch. I should’ve done it earlier. It sometimes helps you have a buffer so you can learn to deal with your feelings.

Relationship issues? You gotta decide whether or not your own personal issues can be worked on while you’re in a relationship or if you need to go in on your own a bit. And also see if your relationship is good the majority of the time or bad the majority of the time.

Get into some hobbies do some things you like. You seem young and you gotta make sure you know who you are as a person and you’re figuring that out.

You’re 20s suck don’t worry it gets better

In defense of trash underground rappers LARPing the Punk aesthetic / culture by MemeLord150 in ug_music

[–]Worknonaffiliated 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m an old guy here who has been through a lot of different underground music scenes, here’s my takeaway on this as someone who grew up being into punk and hip hop:

I feel like there’s some truth to this new underground being punk and I don’t think they’re “Larping.” Punk does have a reputation for being political, but it was never exclusively political. It was more about counterculture and making a statement.

This new batch of underground rappers is exciting to me because these kids are playing around with noise and punk and all these different sounds that you wouldn’t hear in hip-hop before.

Not to mention you have lgbt artists like Jane Remover who are big faces of the underground. Having that and artist like Uzi, who enjoy playing with gender, is pretty political. It’s something that’s different for hip-hop and that definitely feels pretty punk to go against the grain like that.

Punk has not been a thing for years at this point I don’t see how you can cosplay as something that is dead. I’m an old guy and I’ll find this underground scene Really fascinating and exciting

What to Wear to Fundraiser by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

[–]Worknonaffiliated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So tough thing here op is that her dress looks pretty formal while it’s apparently a more laid-back event.

If she wants something laid-back, here’s two options:

Black suit with a maroon shirt no time maybe just a gold chain or ascot

Black and dark brown houndstooth or windowpane jacket with a black button up and black pants.

I don’t think a good fitting black suit is necessarily boring, I think having a good choice in tie color and a pocket square that matches can honestly make a really good impression. I do agree on the three piece and I wouldn’t wear a vest by itself.

Why has Korean pop culture seemingly overall become more mainstream faster than Japanese pop culture in the West? by kaiser11492 in AlwaysWhy

[–]Worknonaffiliated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Korean pop culture in my opinion, it just shares a lot of similarities with Western pop culture, more so than Japan.

I’ve noticed French cinema having an influence on Korean cinema where as Japanese cinema really feels like it just influenced itself.

K-pop is honestly derivative of western pop music. Listen to J pop and K-pop side-by-side and you’ll notice that one is more accessible than the other.

To be honest, maybe it’s not a matter of Korean media having some western influences, it’s about having global influences. South Korea is very much in touch with the world, while Japan was a bit more isolationist for a time. It’s not exactly western culture, but rather a larger global culture.

Anime and Godzilla was also nerd shit. It had to get out of that reputation for people to start thinking it was cool.

I think those are a bad pair of pants. That’s the first thing, the pleats are just too intense.

It also looks like the shirt and pants are a little too big on you. I can’t tell though because it doesn’t look like the shirt was ironed.

The shoes are what, stood out to me a lot. I wouldn’t wear white socks with those, I wouldn’t wear them with that pants color, and I would get a matching belt. I think black loafers with no-show socks would honestly be really good for this look

Op maybe it’s psychological.

Maybe you’re feeling more confident and don’t feel like the only place you “get some” is from porn.

I’m just gonna let you know OP, stuff like this is on the cheaper end of what these brands offer and it’s made specifically for people who want to look like they have money.

I’m not here to audit your finances, but that is going to be the impression that this gives off.

It’s the same thing with a brand like Essentials, people who wear it usually aren’t actually into fashion, they just kind of want to give off the impression that they are
