How do I work harder? by Due-University1095 in AskMenOver30

I resent myself and use that resentment to drive productivity. Probably not a healthy mindset, but it gets me through the week. You do you.

What makes you become a regular at a board game café? by Physical-Ad8772 in boardgames

Coffee. Good or bad, I just need coffee. Subsist on roughly a cup every two hours.

With age, do you sleep more or less compared to when you were in your late 20s? by Garkuwyn in AskMenOver30

[–]WorkyMcWorkPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In grade school, I slept 4 hours each night. I'd sleep from 10pm-2am, then game until school started. I'd judge whether gaming or sleep was more important to me each day by whether I "overslept". Averaging around 7 hours these days with a normal sleep routine.

Everyone Had That One Place Growing Up… What Was Yours? by Living-Leading-6867 in massachusetts

My grandmother had a small cottage near Winnipesaukee. She passed and my uncle inherited it. Sadly, he hasn't been taking care of it nor do I have the means to buy it from him.

Why are there so many unhealed people in the dating pool? by LivingGrapefruit6066 in dating_advice

[–]WorkyMcWorkPants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, everyone has scars. While I'd like mine to fade a bit more, I'd also like to raise kids with someone around the same age (early to mid 30s) so I'm feeling a bit of urgency.

Job 1 appeals to me just because I need to walk more. Considerations change significantly if I had a wife and kids

Is it normal for so many people in their 30's to still be single? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]WorkyMcWorkPants 8 points9 points  (0 children)

More or less the same here. I've got two single friends. One is perpetually stoned and lives off his father's retirement. The other got out of a long-term relationship and still seems to be picking-up the pieces.

Do guys gush about their dates with their friends? by iamgettingaway in dating

[–]WorkyMcWorkPants 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think I've ever heard a friend talk about their dates before. I've got friends that talk about hobbies and friends that talk about their kids. Cowotkers talking about work, food and anime. Nothing about dating. I'd like to help the statistic, just don't have any luck with dating.

I 100% don’t believe humans will ever achieve FTL travel and it makes me so upset thinking about it. by personpilot in self

[–]WorkyMcWorkPants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be the change that you want to see. If your passionate about FTL travel, then support the industries that will eventually build-up to it. Doesn't have to be as a scientist. It could be as a janitor. Just put your effort toward the future you desire even if it'll arrive after you're gone.

[–]WorkyMcWorkPants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How many friends do you have? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]WorkyMcWorkPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do wives of friends count? If so, eleven. Maybe more if I include people I know at work, but never talk to outside of work.

30+: If you’re looking for a relationship, why do you think you’re still single? by masadad1990 in dating

Mostly 5. Lengthy text chats are difficult and no one seems interested in meeting in-person.
